Both. The Windows and the Android App sucks (unstable/buggy). Can't speak for the Mac App as I don't have that. Anyway the browser extensions both work flawlessly and fast. They allow unlocking many different channels like flix, bbc, hulu, sports..

If you want to use it on PC/phone download their OpenVPN config files and install OpenVPN(App) to use. Then it also works stable and fast.

I also have WS lifetime and it's great. They keep adding new features. Now even free port forwarding for premium users(for 24h) :P

Do you use android? If you do, configure Strongswan and use IKEv2. I have it turned on 24/7 and it sips battery very gently, doesn't heat up the phone or slow it down.

I did that once and over 20 accounts got locked.

Have a 3-yr to Nord, but for $24 bucks I also couldn't pass it up.

Edit: Just tried Hulu with wireguard, no-go. Ivacy let me through first try on my IPhone.

You not changed to VPN before test?

    @Ympker said:
Just did a test run before going to bed and it didn't change anything for me (Windows 10).
Results were not better than the ones Ive already got. Tested it with Ivacy and FastestVPN.

Maybe your VPN doesnt support it, or gets the max speed allready.

Maybe :P I guess I am satisfied with the speedtest results for normal use anyway. Don't need anything above 50 Mbit/s really xD

You were saying you don't need to watch porn on 4k?

What do you mean by locked? I am not understanding this.

  • I just bought one (Ivacy) and I also like to get Windscribe but seems lifetime is no longer offered or it's out of stock. Do you think Windscribe will offer again lifetime subscription?

I unfortunately am not a Windscribe employee, and neither is this a Windscribe helpdesk.

Windscribe announced several times last year that as of december (I think it was) they'd cease offering lifetime licenses.

Can you share settings of strongswan for ivacy ikev2?
I bought that promo but can't setup strongswan client, it always says "wrong password/username".

If I setup PPTP or L2TP/IPsec it works fine.

Clear (stock) IKEv2 from Windows10 works fine too.
So I think that I should specify algorithms in SS client on android...

Ok solved by myself (with help of support).
First of all via strongswan you should connect not to "general" server but to "ovpn" servers, here is a list:
    hk2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    us2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    ukl2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    sg2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    se2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    nl2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    my2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    fr2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    ch2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    cato2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    be2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    au2-ovpn.dns2use.com
    nl2-cn-udp.dns2use.com

Second step: you should set "Server identity" in strongswan client: pointtoserver.com.

    Thats all. VPN Connects.

Yeah, their life chat support is almost always online and very fast to resolve any issues. Felix is my favourite of them.

Enjoy Strongswan for reliable connections to VPN that doesn't drain your battery. This is in my books currently the best option for always on VPN in an android. It consistently uses only about 1.7% of total battery use.

Edit: added in power draw information

Thanks for sharing the coupon and thank you @Ympker for your reviews. Even if ivacy has been the worst one for you, I just went for it and can confirm it works from Germany for Hulu, including decent speeds.

It's been the worst speed-wise in the test. But for unblocking content and streaming it is probably my favorite. Anything that reaches 10-20 Mbit/s is fine for streaming honestly. Overall it's by no means bad. I'm running on their lifetime license since 2-3?! years and it's been great.

@SashkaPro Ivacy on Firefox works just fine for me:

Let me know after a few days if it works well for you. I use IKEv2 unless it's blocked. OpenVPN is my backup.

Mine Ivacy addon can't load "location tab" so I can't switch on/off and choose location. :(
    May be country-block stuff.

Sometimes it says "Servers are busy. Try again later" but other than that it always works. Try re-installing the extension perhaps?

wireguard is supposed to be much faster than openvpn and lower resource requirments

There was no wireguard when i started using Windscribe. So far IKEv2 has worked well in terms of the resource requirements, so I'll stick with it until I decide to get a throwaway temporary VPN
