Please, learn to write in English. It's not about talking like a native English, but letting others understand you.

Thanks. No, I didn't understand it. "to have" is an infinitive form and has nothing to do with "too have". Anyway, it's SPAM.

    Deadpool ahoy.

Did you read the small print on OVH's site at all?

  • RAID 0? Wow man WOW!

  • I love how it takes $50 to become a "provider"

Yes, but I'm not sure what you're referring to?

Thanks for the speculation, but obviously I spent more than $50 to set up.

$75 (you forgot about the SolusVM and WHMCS licenses)

  • Can you give us any information on your node specs? I'm assuming those are custom build servers?

    Intel Core i5-2400 (4 cores / 4 Threads)

    3.1GHz (3.4GHz Turbo Boost)

    RAM: 16 GB DDR3

    Hard disk: 2x 2TB SATA2

And, I was actually wrong in the OP, it isn't RAID 0 - All containers are on 1 drive, and are backed up nightly to the other drive.

They aren't custom build, as I'm not looking to be hosting a large amount of VPSs.

  • I guess that is the SP 16G right?

All containers are on 1 drive, and are backed up nightly to the other drive.

    a.. Raid 1 isn't a backup solution.

    b. The data from drive 1 is mirrored on drive 2 with Raid 1...in real time. Raid 1 doesn't do "backed up nightly to the other drive."

obviously I spent more than $50 to set up....

    Intel Core i5-2400 (4 cores / 4 Threads)....

SP16G, €49.99. The summer host desktops have arrived!

It is yes, one of the good things about it is, if I get near full capacity, another server can be provisioned and added to the pool, so even though it's currently low spec, it wouldn't affect the end user.

    I didn't say it was.

2 The data from drive 1 is mirrored on drive 2 with Raid 1...in real time. Raid 1 doesn't do "backed up nightly to the other drive."

    I never said it did.

    Now, what I said was:

2 Drives, no RAID, nightly backups on to another drive.
Them backups can then be moved to a different server or whatever.

  • Let me do some math. You sell the 512MB plan for 5$. You can use 35 IPs for VMs on the server.

Therefore you can only sell 35 512MB plans, resulting in 175$/month income. The server costs £53.99 (incl. VAT) + £18.00 (professional usage) + £31.5 (IPs). This results in £103,5 or $155 dollar expenses per month.

That leaves with you 20$ after server expenses.

Further expenses of $10/month for SolusVM and $16/month for WHMCS result in a profit of -$4/month

    Thanked by 2DomainBop serverian
  • Man, future deadpoolers usually at least make some profit before running away. Should pay more attention in business class at school I guess.

That's assuming that all 35 VMs are the 512MB plan. If all 35VM's were the 128MB plan you're looking at revenue of $105 monthly and a loss of $74 monthly

  • @gsrdgrdghd: you forget WHMCS license monthly fee :D

It hasn't been 24hr, why don't you edit OP then..?
