    Got it, thanks!

Please keep me updated of the outcome. I asked them to mount a custom ISO as well, but I was told it's currently not available. So I had to work around it by booting the ISO with Grub from the disk.

  • Hmm, I'm a little suspicious when a provider won't do a custom ISO.. it shows they are incompetent or want to freely access the kvm image without giving the choice to luks the whole thing.

    Still waiting for a reply...

There is still many way install your own OS or ISO on KVM without asking the provider to load the ISO on your VM

  • They said that the control panel can usually do this but was "broken by a software update". Going to look into these alternative ways to mount an ISO. #LowEndLife

  • Can someone run some nench.sh benchmarks on this plan?

  • Yeah so they want to charge $3 to mount a custom ISO. Now I see why people call them budgetnope lol

Fuck it, I'll /msg you the root password and IP on IRC and you can play with it for the lols. Just gonna let it idle anyway...

35MB/sec I/O, a bit CPU steal on idle.
    For 7$ kinda okay.

Hopefully the I/O gets a bit better and does not go further down.

Hopefully will stabilize - would expect at least a decent chance for relatively solid system from @Ishaq - guess we'll find out soon enough

that said, I think for $7 or even $10 per year KVM isn't necessarily going to be running on latest 3.4 GHz and NVMe ... hoping mainly just for good uptime, reasonable disk io, and halfway decent network.

  • The problem is clearly windows :P

The Network is really stable these days, very solid.
