    I know.

Is the single IPV6(solusVM says) assigned from its own /64 subnet?

Can a a handful more be manually assigned(in the future) if the subnet is reserved?

It's from an own /64. You can assign more from there.

Hey Alex! Couple Q's for you --

    1. What CPUs do your UK KVM hosts have? And is KVM pass-through possible?
    2. I noticed your Terms of Service explicitly forbid Minecraft and TeamSpeak servers. Was the TS addition recent? I used to have a TS server running previously on a NY OVZ service and don't recall this being a part of your ToS when I first signed up. Are other types of game servers also disallowed?
    3. (Only applies if game servers are permitted) I couldn't find any specific details, but what is your AUP policy on KVMs? Would be hosting a couple game servers, which may burst to a high CPU clock periodically for short durations (< 1 hr) and want to make sure that's acceptable.

    Hello Mason!

Hope you're well! Let me answer your questions now:
    1. KVM nodes use either E3v5/E3v5 or Dual E5-2650v1/v2. E3s in London, E5s in Bulgaria. Do note that the CPUs in London might change to E5s or Scalable in the near future, due the RAM limitations of E3s. CPU pass-through is not an issue, however should be requested via a ticket, as it's not the default setting.
    2. As a general rule - we try to avoid gameservers and TS, due to them causing some DDoS issues and while most of our locations have proper filtering in place, we do not want DDoS magnets on our network. TS and MC for friends and family is perfectly fine. Same goes for users, such are yourself, who I know are not problematic. TBH - I just don't want to deal (or make my team deal) with a bunch of butthurt kids, attracting tons of DDoS - so we have this in our TOS. We do not go through VMs and do not monitor the content, so we really don't know who is running what - as long as it's not causing problems.
    3. As long as the bursts are not very long, all should be fine. You have to note that none of these plans come with dedicated CPU, so hogging it up 24/7 will lead to a warning.

Hope this is good enough for you!

Around 170EUR for the bandwidth + the server costs - this is if you plan on using the full 100TB. We're always willing to do custom quotes, so feel free to PM me with more details and I will quote you accordingly. We would be able to do pure Cogent for cheaper.

@vimalware - thank you for the benchmarks - we rarely get reviews up here :(

Decided to try a 100% read-only test too with 512k blocksize. got 286 iops as AVG. After AES enabled: 675 IOPS woohoo.

dd fans , please note this is a Random IO test with a 4gb file of random data that is not in controller cache.
I was just trying to establish a worst-case 'floor' for random read performance.

heck, here are the obligatory dd (seq.write) tests with compressible data (zeroes):

    For 64k blocksize:

    Edit: BEFORE aes unlocked:

    dd if=/dev/zero of=zerotest bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    6384+0 records in
    6384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 30.7558 s, 34.9 MB/s

EDIT: and after AES instruction unlocked:

    dd if=/dev/zero of=testzero-64k-aesON bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 11.0785 s, 96.9 MB/s

      • 1M blocksize - -

    EDIT: without AES

    dd if=/dev/zero of=zerotest1M bs=1M count=1024 conv=fdatasync
    1024+0 records in
    1024+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 17.19 s, 62.5 MB/s

    EDIT: after AES instruction unlocked:

    dd if=/dev/zero of=testzero-1M-aesON bs=1M count=1024 conv=fdatasync
    1024+0 records in
    1024+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 10.111 s, 106 MB/s

Wait, I just realized I hadn't requested AES passthrough. The read and write numbers given above are to a LUKS volume _without_ AES instructions

We're currently not doing any shared hosting. Seems like too much of a hassle. Maybe we will start offering again at some point, but nothing at the moment.

Just need a bit of ram, a reasonable CPU and a disk. 4TB might do, 6TB would be better.
