Cheap VPS for few websites
Hello,
I'm looking for a cheap vps to run few websites. These sites are not traffic intensive.
At the moment, I'm hosting them on 5$ Linode plan, so any vps with about the same specs. will be fine.
My average monthly bandwidth usage is only 15GB.
Now I'm paying 52€/year (4,34€/month).
These sites are product showcases and allow customers to buy the product, so a good uptime is very important to me.
I'm looking for a well-known in the market and reliable provider.
What I took into consideration so far:
- OVH 43,77€/year: what about reliability?
- BuyVM 3.5$(3€/month, 36€/year)
What do you think? Linode so far has been great. My vps has 73 days of uptime with 0 problems.
Do you know any other good provider?
Thanks.

Low End Spirits.. NAT VPSes are very cheap..
Also try VirMach, they offer very good KVM and OpenVZ VPSes..
I had a bad experience with buyVM long long time ago when they change their DC. Not sure about OVH VPS but kimsufi is reliable.
This very depends on what you wish to do.
If your important thing - minimize costs, you should move your site to some shared hosting. It will be okay for such type of sites, and costs will be around 15$/y
I do not like Francisco and his gangbangteam, they are rude and bad (my opinion based on my experience) but their products worth to place here too: https://buyshared.net/
Also, you can try https://www.serverhunter.com/find/ and filter by parameters.
Also, worth to say about many other providers here, they are pretty good too (but sorry, I'm super lazy to write about many really good providers here).
Man, is still a little business website. I feel like putting them on a 15$/yr vps will get me in trouble sooner or later.
Do you think that switching from linode to DO is worth the effort? DO has nice object storage that I think I may need for my future project. Linode is offering block storage but is way more expensive than DO (250GB/5$ at DO, 50GB/5$ at Linode)
Vultr is 2.5$/month with IPV6. I can use cloudflare to handle the ipv6 address.
Any experience with them? I heard about instable network.
Securedragon is also pretty darn stable
Arubacloud €1 is good if it is still available
I'll check thx
At this point I'll keep Linode
I recommend If you are happy with current provider stick with them.

@Francisco , what did you do to him ?
@op you should just buy a shared reseller hosting. It's very cheap for what you do.
Thanks.
I did not have sexual relations with that customer.
I think he had a very bad time with Aldryic back in the day. He also has a lot of issues with voxility that extend outside of us.
I extend the same offer to him that I did others. If you wish to try out our services again I'll provide them a month or 3 long free trial and see how things have improved.
We have had issues over the years, I've worked hard to address them.
Francisco
I'm guessing the SJC to Vegas move maybe? Anyway, same offer to you if our slices (or slabs) interest you.
Francisco
Any location preference?
Did you try Amazon Lightsail https://aws.amazon.com/lightsail/ ?
Europe (nl/germany/france/uk)
What about leaseweb vps line? Are they good?
Many providers here offer very solid VPSes for 15$/y. Even better ones if you can wait a month for black friday to get your box
Any experience with them? I heard about instable network.
Should work fine for your needs. You even can setup cloudflare to cache everything (check sunny plugin if you use wordpress) so that all pages will be served directly from the edge servers.
Good but not very cheap.
Consider Vultr. They're currently matching deposits up to $100 for new customers so you can effectively reduce the cost of their $5 plan to $2.50/month for a year (credits expire after 12 months). You might also be fine with their $3.50/month plan (effectively $1.75/month with matching credit). See: https://www.vultr.com/match/
Thanks! I just went with vultr! I paid 50$ and got 100$ credit.
For 2.5$ month I can run my vps for about 3 years
I specifically pointed out:

I’m sorry if this has already been asked, but why not just use shared hosting? If you’re looking to be able to just leave your website online and not need much resource Shared Hosting could be a good option!
Espcecially since majority of web hosts these days come with a pooled DDoS Protection!
I need php sql server extension

Hello,
Maybe one of our packages suits your needs? See: https://skb-enterprise.com/ssd-vps/
You can also configure a server your own: https://clients.skb-enterprise.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=117
Location is Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
We're in business since 2013.
buy one natvps and be happy. see lowendstock can be useful.
RamNode, BuyVM, and DO have been good to me. Always fast service, reliable networks, and nice control managers. I also have VPS's at Linode, and they've been great as well. If Linode has been running your site well, you may want to consider just sticking with them. Unless, is the $5/mo too much for you currently?
We've been in business for approx 5 years, with a registered business age of 2 years. Our LA location with Psychz can provide what you need.
2 cores
1GB
35GB SSD
1 IPv4
1TB @ 1Gbps
15Gbps DDoS Mitigation
$4.50 /mo
Price wise we may not be the best but performance and uptime wise we tend to choose our locations strategically.
Yep it is. My avg. server load is 0.05
Get shared hosting.

Does wonders.
There's a thing called "php sql server extension" that keeps me away from shared hosting
