  • I wonder if this is server max ram or the max ram it'll use before throwing up errors.

Server max ram, according to their staff:

Yea but porn, is still not allowed I guess.

  • ah! the new Litespeed Enterprise v5.3 has PHP detached mode that means even if server restarts, the php processes would not stop (but run independently) and respect the max idle time setting.

No more downtime for php driven sites (in context with litespeed server restart)

  • Nice move from LS side. Wondering what will happen with OpenLS... I guess LS Enterprise dying to NGINX, Apache and all other solid FREE alternatives and seeking more adoption. Congratulations to them for flexibility and courage to accept reality.

I never see anyone using LSWS on it's own, it's always with cpanel, so I don't think nginx is a threat.

  • There's still OpenLiteSpeed for those with simple installations...

  • i like openlitespeed

Only problem with OLS is the lack of Apache compatibility but then if they add that people wouldn’t use Enterprise I would assume

  • I like the idea of a free 1 domain licence, good alternative to setting up VPS for Wordpress site with Litespeed

  • dying for current consumerbase : no
dying for inovation / new target market : maybe?

i totally agree with @fransisco ,cpanel+ls still webhosting provider choice,i have clients that insist they only want cpanel and ls

But i think this choice is for opening oppurnity to milenial tech/stack . Nginx start from oneman to business inc is not caused by small change/push

  • so, 2G RAM + 2G Swap possible?

Unless you can run Nginx on cPanel like you run Litespeed (or better!)

  • Ram 4 GB though could have been better.

  • Litespeed is more convenient and easier when we are talking about cPanel

That doesn't work worth a crap though.

Litespeed understands htaccess files just fine, there's no need to convert/manually import/etc the entries.

For NGINX to have the same it'll have to reverse proxy everything to Apache first and then maybe cache the results.

I was using an NGINX plugin for a while when Litespeed was having a lot of systemd/crash issues. It was OK but far from amazing in the end.
