    Not really mining though.

In any case, netcup doesn't allow mining-like activities, so it wouldn't be a good choice for the OP.

You are coming to late to the party, when we had dedicated machines for around 10EUR a month that made about 10EUR profit from mining.

If you ask for offers, the will be mostly more expensive as if I you wait for good deals.

Are you srsly offering unlimited CPU on these plans? You might have missed what the OP was asking for.

OP, you are better off with a dedi if you want to run a long term high CPU load. Hetzner/DO/BuyVM are great if you ave a shorter term CPU requirement but you'll eventually get throttled. DO and OVH have high-cpu VPS plans but they're more expensive than just getting dedi hardware to begin with.

  • wishosting doesn't terminate you for high cpu, their hypervisor will simply throttle back until you have enough cpu credits to burst at full clockspeed.

Should be fine for your 'non-mining' use case.

No. CPU-intensive applications have existed for as long as computers, long before the invention of mining. OP apparently wants to run one of those if we take their word for it. That means throttling would defeat the idea.

I run applications like that myself sometimes, using dedicated servers. That's the best way to do it, I think. I've run a few on the Hetzner cloud (up to a few hours of 100% CPU) and didn't get throttled, but I think doing that for days or months would eventually lead to throttling.

OVH CPU-intensive public cloud instances don't throttle (they have dedicated resources) but they are much more expensive than using dedis. The best approach seems to be cheap dedis so that's what I've been doing.

Just my gut, but I think the founder is smart enough to put in place new checklists/processes.

I can forgive a mistake, but not the inability to learn from them.

Human error is inevitable. At a certain point in growth, you have to add process (much as startups hate that word)

Yep, the thread where services were terminated just showed that (for those who didn't catch the reference). Reading further down, it simply seems better to make it self-service with abundant warnings/confirmation -- then it can never be the provider's fault. As a customer, I'd like having more options via self-service as well.
