I think they mean they are no longer trading as of today, servers will be off soon grab your data.

30k in debt though... hmm, don't they use OVH and Hetzner or am I wrong, not sure they would let someone get to that level of debt?

    edit:

Everyone needs to consider filing a charge back, it seems that GHP is still billing customers and is unable to refund them.

And I wouldn't count on the 'in a week' 'notice' either.

"Uh, boss, we have a problem. Seems the DC wants us to pay for renting these servers."

"WHAT?!? That throws out my entire profit model!"

It didn't. They haven't circulated an email. I only found out because I received an email from PayPal cancelling my billing agreement.

I visited the portal to find out what was happening and saw the announcement.

That's why I posted here, so more people can take notice.

  • No surprise here. They already discontinued shared a while ago. Though one though. Where to find another $0.5/m VPS to host my million $ business?

Nope, but it was expected as support went really bad through the past month.

  • Perhaps those €1,75/month 4GB KVMs they sold during Black Friday were slightly unsustainable.

at least they were monthly eh!

  • Smells like a bit of a lie. They've had a node down for at least a few days and referred to this: https://status.ghp.host/incident/5

Good riddance. If an entity can't manage debt, better go out.

They are going down in flames though.

    The end has come to'em.

Another prove that differentiating with price alone and the race to the bottom don’t end well.

One should always be weary of the desperate / too good to be true looking offers.

If we are that wise, nobody will get married.

  • Is today April Fools' Day?

  • Well that's bad why not just raise your prices?

30k debt means they hadn't been paying for a while. A simple price increase won't cut it. In other words, they were getting money from client for the last few months to make enough to make a run for it.

That's how some lowend hosts roll.

Ah, no. Wikipedia says the oldest primitive ledgers date from 28,000 BC.

Those primitive ledgers recording was likely this.

    I made out with A. I owe A.

    I made out with B. I owe B.

    I worked for A, now I owe A nothing.

So, in a way, it was about love... sort of.

30k debt aint much. Didn't realize they were so tiny. Low end indeed.

Being is debt is bad full stop, your more than 30k in debt? :)

My point was more being 30k in debt to OVH and Hetzner is unlikely, i think they would have cut you off REAL FAST.

Maybe he picked up a credit to finance the start and stuff, if you do not pay bills at Hetzner/OVH/Online your server goes offline quick.

Online gives you 10 days, OVH gives you about 1 day, not much spare time.

    And he had OVH stuff.
