Online.net to freshen up its Dedibox line of servers on April 6th

edited March 2018 in General

Online.net's CEO/CTO Arnaud just tweeted:

Les Dedibox Classic, LT et MD ont des stocks bas. Ceci est lié au renouvellement de ces 3 offres prévu le 06 Avril.

which translates to:
We have low stocks of Dedibox Classic, LT and MD. This has to do with us freshening up these 3 offers on April 6.

Just a FYI. Let's "stay turned" [sic]

Regular price, no deals for us.

They could maybe, sell the old hw for cheap.

Yep, that's why it might prove of interest to LET.

  • What about XC/SC models?

We are talking about the same company who removed all working Dedibox Kidechire servers because hardware was old.

The thing is, Kidechires where fucking old, they started selling it around late 2010 for 15 bucks.

The thing was sold for 1.99, 2014:

I guess about 7 Years lifespan is not small.

Kimsufi is still selling D425 from Q2'2010, I think they will disapear soon or OVH lets them run until they have no more boards to replace them.

Online.net pulled the dedi after they ran out of replacement parts, so I guess the same what OVH will do.

Seems like Online.net slowly puts 4 Years old hardware to sale.

  • A lot of old shit from Online is sold through OneProvider

Some, but most of that, is just overpriced shit.

The biggest and best deals, came from online.net itself.

Overpriced shit is Online's setup fees.

Agree. The online setup fees is crazy. SO had to go with oneprovider.

New plans now live. And a price hike.

e.g. the cheapest offer (at regular price) was the C2350/4GB/120SSD for €8.99, it's now €11.99.

Let's hope for a Special Deals event.

So basically the same servers, just with a price increase?

  • look like regular setup fee has been changed to be lower

    Regular price increases. A feather...

  • Well, price increases too much...

  • lol

    Very bad deals....

This is a small increase and well justified.

Every year virtually everyone in the industry gets hit with increases above the RPI, with their margins I don’t see why these increases wouldn’t be passed I not the Customers. Their are great anyway for not increasing them for the existing Customers.

Would be nice if my income would increase too. Not everyone lives from / works in the IT "bubble" industry.

Implement RPI increases in your contracts, after all work is IT related and costs rise every year.

RPI increase of +20%, what kind of third-world hobo-populated country do you live in?!

Well, I have to disagree. The price increase just makes other providers look better for the same money. (Like leaseweb, yourself and others)

Obviously if they are not charging majority of their Customers (existing) and only new, it has to be more to make up for it. I thought it was obvious...

  • Nothing to see here except higher monthly prices and slightly cheaper setup fee.
