  • I signed up on hetrixtools for the free double account during the blackfriday deals last year and my experience is super great, even for the free acct.

Hetrixtools.com customer here. There are some UI details I don't like but it's and excellent tool.

    Hi guys

Could you please share your website monitoring services usage experience?
I need to check HTTP(S)/DNS services and get alert via email and sms.
What do you use? What can you recommend?
I liked Pingdom features, but it’s UI - is to slow and difficult to use.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hetrix is good

    Thanked by 2HBAndrei Shurshuka
  • have used NixStats.com in the past but recently switched over to HetrixTools.com Both solid services

    Hi guys

    Thanks for the feedbacks!
Hetrixtools does not support DNS checks (only HTTP/SMTP/TCP(?)).
I think I will try Zilore Monitoring service, it's free and has all necessary checks type for me.

I've also used Nixstats while it was beta, after that switched to Hetrixtools. Hetrix is good

  • +1 for Hetrixtools. I like the lightweight server monitor (which can be installed along with site monitoring where services are monitored)

@mnasonov : Signed up to try this out (you can never have enough monitoring services :P). Once logged in, a lot of the column headings are in Russian. Makes it harder to navigate as well. (This is inspite of choosing "English" at the time of logging in)

  • @ramesh_vish : Hi, it was a little bug with translation. Now it has been fixed! Thanks.

I use the free 10check addon available to Onepoundwebhosting customers. (9- or 10 POPs, zero false positives to date. )

If you want to pay for it, it's pretty cheap right now compared to the alternatives (50 checks for 1.5 GBP/mo).
(SMS credits can be purchased optionally; I just use email alerts )

For API alerts, supported options are WebHook, PagerDuty, HipChat, Boxcar, Campfire.

I'm sure Stuart would add Slack if you asked.

Only con is hitting Delete on your configured 'checks' can cause the page to timeout. (but will be deleted on the back-end once the mongo cluster syncs after data delete; this should probably be made asynchronous to the web-frontend)

    Screenshot (DNS check) : https://i.imgur.com/etJmgPF.png

I've been using this since Nov 2014 without interruption.

Site24x7 is a reasonably priced solution that monitors lots of different technologies. In addition to SMS and email, they provide phone calling for no additional fee.

Just few days ago we introduced our new website monitoring service.
Now we offer free life time monitoring service plan for first beta users.
    Check it :)

Thank you for this. I've been testing for a few weeks and your alerts reach me faster than my current one.

I also like how you group together uptime notifications.
It's useful to quickly spot patterns, like network issues with same upstream datacenter.

Plus, hey. You can't beat free earlybird grandfathered accounts !

I know that a lot of people from this forum use Zilore as there DNS provider.

Thank you. Just an FYI: the search button on the notification tab looks Cyrillic to me. :)

    Hi, thanks for this feedback.
BTW, today we released our new feature - repeated alerts: you can setup them to repeat DOWN alerts every X minutes Y times.
