Cheap VPS with Snapshot capabilities?
Hello,
I currently use Vultr $5 systems, and I like their service a lot, but wanted to see if there were some alternatives that also have the ability to do snapshots and quickly spin up new Linux based systems.
Specs are on the low end, but I need to sometimes bring up 30-50 near identical boxes
Easy snapshots
1-2 cores
1-2G ram
15G+ SSD
1TB data transfer
1 IP
DDOS protection is a plus
I had a quick look at Virmach and Hyperexpert, but I can't tell if they have snapshot capabilities?
Let me know what's out there

Lunanode doesn't have the built-in, one-click back-ups like Digital Ocean or Vultr for 20% more, but they have snapshots. You can do them manually or via API. https://github.com/LunaNode/lobster

For what you want, you can upload a custom image and spin up instances from that.
I don't understand what you mean by 20%, but one clear advantage with Vultr over Digitalocean is that they as of now have totally free snapshots.
For a $5 instance, DO charges $6 to do automatic backups.
Anyway, Lunanode has snapshots and customs ISOs. It's $.03/GB for snapshots. And they give you 20 GB or something to start out for free in each region.
Hetzner. For snapshot they charged €0.01/GB per month, for backup 20% additional charge of instance price.

@VMHaus?
@Virmach take backup snapshots, but I don't believe there is currently a system for making your own.
@Hetzner does it; NetCup does it.
Scaleway?

They have been excellent for me, snapshot feature is available on there VPS products, they usually have some pretty good deals.
I personally do not recommend Scaleway. The worst customer service you could get!
Never had to contact customer service! Their service works and I'm competent enough to manage my service.
