Just for the US, though
Come to Turkey, where everyone has equally blocked internet where there is no wikipedia, imgur, paypal or porn!
If you guys don't go on streets to protest, you'll see worse things. We thought protesting in our chairs would help, it only got worse.
BUY VZ
Any telecom stock might be a good idea for the time being.
Yep. The internet will return to what it was prior. Which is basically the same thing it was yesterday. Riots will ensue. Some websites will probably protest by limiting access and will in turn create the internet they're so deathly afraid of in the process.
I wouldn't. It's implementation didn't impact them, stands to reason it's repeal also will not. Not a good growth market IMO, at least not for anything more than really long term gains.
VPN sales gonna go up !!
Well now ISP providers can prioritize traffic based on their contract with that site or charge users to visit a site .like if Netflix pays Verizon ,they will get priority over other traffic .
So VPN will not fix it wholly .
Oh noes!!!!11!!!1! The internet will be just like it was in 2015!
Obfuscate the traffic so they can't tell what it is. Of course, there's no use in helping people get around it while the entire problem is theoretical anyway. It's only been illegal for them to do that for a two year stretch of time, they've several years of not doing it under their belt. Not a safe bet to start a business for helping people work around theoretical problems.
The sensational news is pretty entertaining but the reality is nothing changed today, just like nothing changed two years ago when it was introduced.
I am not surprised... Nothing will change until email version 2 is released and when spam blacklists disappear...
But even hell will freeze over by then...
HTTP/3 will change everything. Everyone will have to run a Node service to run all traffic through rot13 to break the system.
Hopefully everyone will be sterile, and the cockroaches will take over.
If Obfuscated traffic get lower priority using vpn just make connection slower
Well sounds like you've got some problems to solve if the problems actually materialize. No sense in solving them first, nothing to test the solutions against.
Yes definitely .
If YouTube pays the isp for traffic or users buy to watch YouTube ,this traffic will get priority over normal traffic or VPN .
So VPN is not going solve the issue as isp will not block any website but slow down non paid traffic .
Man you guys have these theoretical problems all figured out
They tried that here in India but failed to pass
India is a different culture though. Americans are very entitled and defiant.
The smugness comes in two ply.
If this would have happened in India, then we would have lost that glorious trending section of Youtube in India.
America means freedom here, if USA has passed, other countries will adopt slowly
America? Freedom? Here? You have been brainwashed.
Hopefully, things does not get blocked selectively.
I dont think so, VPN can not save us from this thing. How can you say a VPN will help us in implementing partial NET Neutrality. ?
@hostdare
America is probably one of the least democratic countries. The electoral college, gerrymandering, unlimited political donations... How do you think the NRA exists?
Geez, NRA comments on LET when they didn't do anything when Bush Sr banned firearms at the federal level and almost starting going after magazine capacity due to Bill Ruger's "Letter to Congress" that suggested 10 magical rounds. However NRA is "scary" to some people when they'll compromise due to past history of compromising.
I mean culture wise , it is known as free country to us .. maybe I am wrong . I am not American
You’re right. Copy-pasting from the ranked list:
@raindog308 Source?

which seems quite ok for such huge countries
sarcasm , you missed it ?
