Aruba Changes: DC4(FR) and DC5(DE) now at 1€

It seems Aruba changes prices again. DC1(IT) and DC3(CZ) no longer have that 1€ price, but now DC4(FR) and DC5(DE) have it.

"The price of 1€ per month is only valid for deployments made for data center DC4/FR1 or DC5/DE1. New deployments made for data center DC1/IT1, DC2/IT2, DC3/CZ1, DC6/UK1 or DC8/PL1 will be priced at €2,79/month."

  • Came across the reduced Germany and France prices yesterday when I was debating about one of WSS's servers. The very recent email from Aruba had said that IT1 and CZ1 where going to be the 1€ servers, not FR and DE.

As I've a Online.net box in France I haven't picked up a french server, but I did grab a Germany one.

Aruba 1 Eur boxes rock, hands down winning most other LE 1 GB offers priced at least 3x more.
Sure, there are drawbacks with it, but I am not bothered as long as it is cheap and they dont do anything illegal or immoral anymore.

I'm beginning to wonder whether the moment has come for me to try out Aruba.

By the way, no custom ISOs, right? Do they offer any ISOs at all, or only templates?

  • MaouniqueMaounique Host Rep, Veteran

Only templates, they even have windows ones, but do not apply to this one.
Custom ISO at this price, I mean, come on...
But, seriously, try it, dont bother with support and you will be fine (once you understand how their panels work, I still dont know which is which and i never remember passwords, but they send SMS so you are good to go).

Does anyone know if you can use gPXE/iPXE during boot?
(so you can install whatever you want)

  • Their new control panel is way better than the older one. Aruba getting serious in VPS market.

IPv6, a 20-y-old technology, is still terra incognita to many companies. A few of them have reluctantly started implementing it in recent years, and very very few have done it correctly/satisfactorily (hence your answer is: because they don't give a f*ck).
    Aruba isn't one of them.

Relax, no offense taken. I thought the fans already knew and the change swallowed by the Cest Pit during the Thanksgiving weekend chaos. Just narrowing down the time when the change happened.
