[EU] Cheap Dedicated 2x1TB or 2x120GB SSD RAID

I'm looking for an EU dedicated server to be used mostly for a Nextcloud instance.

Looking for;
Either 2x1TB or 2x120GB(or 256) SSD RAID1
4-8GB RAM
3-5TB Bandwidth

No set budget in mind, but really looking for as low as I can go as it's just used for backups/documents.

Any offers welcomed - EU only as I'm in the UK!

Thanks!

Not sure if they have anything you like but check out ikoula.com. they're amazing! France location, owns DC's etc.

  • They are pretty weird config for backup 1tb or 120gb? You will super compress your backups for ssd? 8 gb ram is also overkill for storage. That being said, look at kimsufi.

  • @AlexBarakov might be able to do something for you.

@Clouvider had something like this on sale on Cyber Monday, not sure if it eventually went or not.

Yeah, me too. To be honest, any other day with a smaller flood of offers and it would be gone before I'd click 'Post Comment'.

Maybe everyone was just mad they didn’t get the 2x8TB :-0

I could go lower than 1TB of course - but I'd have thought the price would be similar to that size SSD :-)

Thank you for the offer, but unfortunately that's more than I'm willing to go - I'm probably looking for prices up to ~£40 per month maximum.

@cociu I may contact you later regarding that offer

Depends what you consider amazing? If you consider single homed Cogent to be amazing, then sure, otherwise there are a lot better and more 'amazing' hosts to choose from.

If your goal is just 'cheap', they are cheap and for the money you pay you can't really complain too much about the network being single homed Cogent (the servers are dirt cheap). That said, I just can't get on board with your claim of it being 'amazing' since there are far more 'amazing' hosts out there. Cogent is the cheapest bulk transit you can buy. If this is for personal use, it will be plenty, but if you plan to use the server for production... you should really consider something with more than Cogent in the mix for best performance, as Cogent to some places is just god awful.

Hetzner would likely be a much better deal and they have a much better (multi-homed) network.

    my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

Just partition it in two, and make them both part of an LVM. SINGLE SPINDLE RAID1!

This is about as cheap as it gets, I think:

    https://www.worldstream.nl/en/dedicated/custom/order/Intel_Core_i3_2100_3_10GHz

15 euro/m with 1x 500GB HDD, add 6 euro for a second 500GB drive, subtract 4.2 euro for annual payment and you're at 16.8 euro/m if my math is right. The i3 is a reasonably speedy cpu too, just 2 cores but its single core performance is above L5xxx, E5-xxx, just a little slower than an E3. It will beat the pants off a Kimsufi Atom (KS1 etc).

  • We provide baremetal servers on OpenStack, using 20 CPU cores of the newest Xeon architecture such as Intel Xeon E5 2630v4 (20 x 2.20 GHz), REG ECC, naturally - as well as a 1 Gbit/s uplink with unlimited traffic, the 20-Core solves any challenge thrown at it with ease. SSDs, HDDs and RAID arrays, exactly tailored to your requirements, are the final component that make the 20-Core the perfect choice. Let us know if you still need a quote for your nextcloud setup. By the way we have our own recipes that will install nextcloud during the spawning of the instance.
