Somhow i mesed ud my bootsector or somthing lik that. i have a freshly installed system om disk 1 on the server but it is not booting. can anyone help i have a KMV over IP on the box.
software raid. but in the process i had a onbord semihardware raid enablet maby thats the problem i dont know. The install cd can see and install on the HD fine. but i can not boot
after deleting everything i can delete with gparted. i am now trying to install again. I dont think it will work. i have already tried this about 10 hours ago.
Why don't you pay some one to setup this for you if the DC is not able to do anything and you are having issue? Sounds like the easiest solution for the time being.
If you're re-installing from a iso/disk/etc wouldn't you be recreating the mbr each time you run install... It would seem to me from the information provided that there has not been enough information provided to make a real suggestion I, like others, would ask the DC to re-install the machine and go from there.

Hardware RAID or software RAID?
i think the partly installed raid fucked something in the boot process up. I have tried to rewrite the boot sector. but is is not working
software raid. but in the process i had a onbord semihardware raid enablet maby thats the problem i dont know. The install cd can see and install on the HD fine. but i can not boot
the on bord (hardware) RAID is disabled now
Where is autoboot when we need it.
Edit your grub conf if you can boot into rescue mode or use sysresccd and see if you can fix it. Otherwiswe, reinstall.

You need to make repair/re-create corrupt boot mbr, I'll google it and edit this. I have seen this prob before.

@seriesn if reinstall worked my life woud be too easy. But it dont work
Um... what? From the sound of it, it seems like a reinstall would fix everything (if you don't mind losing all the data).
/s
get a VPS from Dewlance they have autoboot™
right now i am trying to install a plain vanilla debian. To see if that helps
It is not helping that i an sitting on a line with 2mbit up instaling remote from a iso and haven't slept in more than 15 hours.
@HalfEatenPie yes i thought so too. About 14 hours ago. But it didn't
Now i am geting "Failed to create a file system" from the debian installer.

Ask the DC to reinstall and setup the RAID for you.

the problem is that they dont PROXMOX
support PROXMOX
Just have the datacenter install Debian.
Then follow this: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Squeeze
That's it.
Proxmox, by default don't support SW raid, not atleast last time I used it. Unless, you install proxmox on top of regular OS instead of proxpox ISO.

@seriesn that may very well be the end of it.
