Maybe their leb coupons still work

    Out of stock :(

  • I wonder what the network SLA is in places like Egypt when you've got people literally trying to cut the internet off there.

  • Citynet has 99.9% SLA. From my past experience they should change it to a 20% SLA and they would still be required to credit clients

  • Pffff, I won't touch that provider anymore...

Why? Because when I had a service one of my services was compromised and used for portscanning and ssh bruteforcing. Long story, but I am afraid this was a node exploited, or someone in their staff.

Also, their network is slow as hell

  • oceanocean Member

How slow is it? Even eu network?

  • It's slow and has strange routing. from EU the connection always seems to go to new york, usa first.

  • @yomero said: or someone in their staff

So much to say So little time... +1 @yomero

  • I had CityNet for about two years and got fed up with it. Multiple outages, poor support, and finally, my node had a disk failure and all they did was create a fresh VPS on another node (after me requesting it). They didn't care AT ALL that I was pissed. Luckily, they gave me a prompt refund.

I think @key900 from LetBox has Egyptian services (or not?).

    Any good provider?
I can accept the price lower than $15/mo
And the config only need 256mb ram 5gb harddisk 100gb bandwidth
    Sure with a good network

I've had a VPS for several months, it worked fine for storage, testing, and backup by having services setup but no site running on it, just for use temporairly once a VPS is dead to preserve uptime, but haven't had the chance. I don't know about actual uptime if I've hosted something, but ssh was logging in most of the time. I don't know about how currently the service is, or the network.
I've seen a post in WHT about datacenters in egypt for hosting nodes, you may check if there's other providers for LEBs.

What I remember is that all of their i.p was blacklisted, all of them.

  • @LAKid blacklisted where?

  • I had a VPS with them at the beginning of 2011, apart from the 14 days internet cutoff due to riots and civil war it was rather stable. I only used it ro run a Minecraft server though.

Yes I remember that I needed to remove my CityNetHost IP from a couple of blacklists shown as red on the checker at http://bgp.he.net/ But that was pretty easy.
What I didn't like, is the clueless support, unable to set up even the most basic things about an OpenVZ VPS (modules) and get that to work reliably.
The VPS itself mostly worked, "only" with a couple of reboots per month.
    Still would never recommend them.

We don't provide this location at this moment, in Egypt paid high tax those days.

    Awesome.

Uptimerobot hasn't been spamming with with UP's and DOWN's from this server, the past 1-2 months I've only seen it drop 4 times.
