What to do with my VPS?

Hey! I have two servers doing nothing. One was given to me for free and the other one was a $9 for a year deal. They are both lowend (256 ram, 10 gb disk) One is on a gigabit line and the other one's 100 Mbit.

What can I run on them to make use of them? :P

ZNC, VPN, websites.... what did you get them for?

  • Do whatever you want?

    Make a website.
    Host a ZNC bouncer.
Have it email you a funny line everyday.

    Anything your heart desires.

Ah, I'll experiment some with VPN. Shouldn't be too hard to setup!
Normally I just tunnel through the ssh if I want some privacy.

I think I will expand on your idea and write a small nodejs app to fetch something funny every day and send it to me. Thanks.

  • where did you get 256mb ram for 9/yr?

  • URPad, $12/year. That's the best I've seen.
