About Us

RamNode exists for one purpose: to provide affordable VPSs with powerful features. Our years of hosting experience as both clients and providers have inspired us to offer the kind of hosting that clients want at the kind of prices clients want to pay. Though our prices are low, performance is our main focus. We know that our best assets are our loyal customers, so we strive to provide hosting they will rave about to their fellow internet users. Our SSD and SSD-cached VPSs are perfect for a wide range of applications. With our top quality hardware, we can guarantee that our clients will get the most bang for their buck.

Our SuperMicro enterprise grade servers are stocked with Samsung and Intel SSDs in lightning fast, LSI-powered RAID10 arrays. Our servers provide incredible I/O as well as the safety of drive redundancy. We use powerful Intel Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge processors on our VPS nodes. CPU is allocated on a fair share basis per VPS, only limited by the number of cores in each plan.

Our VPSs are hosted in Atlanta, GA. Our servers are located at 55 Marietta, where we own all of our hardware and network (AS3842).

RamNode offers KVM and OpenVZ VPSs. Please see below for more details.

FAQ

How long does VPS setup take?
Your VPS will be setup INSTANTLY upon receipt of payment (unless we happen to be out of stock). KVM VPSs are available instantly, but you are responsible for installing the OS (KVM Guide).

How can I pay?
We accept PayPal and Google Wallet.

Do you have a money back guarantee?
We have a 3 day money back guarantee on your first invoice of your first service as long as your account is in good standing.

How long have you been in business?
RamNode LLC was founded in June 2012. We have hosted thousands of clients in other professional capacities since 2006.

What's the best way to get help when I need it?
Our VPSs are unmanaged, but you can open a ticket for acceptable support requests. We are also available on Live Chat, Skype, and IRC.

What kind of hardware do you use?
We use Intel Ivy and Sandy Bridge CPUs, LSI RAID cards, Samsung and Intel SSDs, and Western Digital and Seagate enterprise HDDs.

How fast is your connection?
Our VPS nodes are connected to the internet at 1Gbps. Your VPS can use all of that speed on a fair share basis.

Do you have any network tests?
Atlanta:
IPv4 - 199.241.28.6
IPv6 - 2604:180::2
IPv4 100MB download - test.atl.ramnode.com/100MB.test
IPv6 100MB download - http://[2604:180::7a1c:3cd1]/100MB.test

What's the difference between SSD and SSD-Cached?
SSD-cached VPSs store "hot" data (data frequently called on by the server) in a RAID10 array of SSDs. These VPSs come with lots of hard drive space, but still have similar performance to an all-SSD VPS.

What operating systems are available?
We offer a variety of Linux 32 and 64-bit OS templates and ISOs.

Can I use my VPS for ___?
Please see our AUP.

What control panel comes with your VPSs?
Our VPSs come with the SolusVM control panel.

Do you provide remote backups?
Yes, we take remote backups of each VPS image on a weekly basis. We keep each backup for seven days, at which time it is overwritten with a new backup. You can request a VPS restore through a support ticket.

I'm not sure what our affiliate system has to do with that? Or what am I missing here?

Thank you for not saying "pure ssd"

I coined that phrase way back on my homepage, and then realized how silly it sounded.

  • just bought 12 nodes from Nick yesterday!

  • Waiting Seattle. :D

  • @Nick_A Do you have new cached VZ nodes so I can get another box in a different node?
    Thanks!

    CVZ-E3 or E5?

  • Being so awesome, I wonder why you always have stock

  • @jcaleb said: Being so awesome, I wonder why you always have stock

    There's no SKVM stock. :(

I knew there is catch somewhere!

  • Nick_ANick_A Member, Top Host, Host Rep

Haha, more SKVM tonight or tomorrow. Parts arriving this evening.

  • E5 ones

I feel like the E3 ones will not be restocked anymore btw :P

  • When Seattle is opening?

  • @yomero said: feel like the E3 ones will not be restocked anymore btw :P

    E3 nodes always have a demand :P

  • Whats difference between e5 and e3?

  • budingyunbudingyun Member

E3 smaller node since maximum ram supported only 32GB. E3 processor higher clock speed rate per core.

We won't be adding more nodes, but we will add more stock as it frees up. We have some now depending on what you want. Just shoot me a ticket.

@jcaleb said: Whats difference between e5 and e3?

E3 - faster per core, less space. E5 - slightly slower (can you really call 2.3GHz+ slow? ha), more space.

    ETA April 22.

Still no plans on LA? :(

    please do this

LA was cost prohibitive to do exactly what we wanted. The best way to keep our prices low and maintain full control over our network (both of which are best for our clients) was to go with Seattle. We will have basically a replica of Atlanta in our new location (2x10Gbps lines from nLayer and Tinet, full control over network hardware and settings, etc).

  • What about us Asians =(

  • Seattle is still weast cost. Any test ip @Nick_A?

Seattle should be pretty good to Asia.

Not yet, but you can check out the nLayer and Tinet looking glasses:

Thank you. I see some SKVM stock. Hehe.

  • @Nick_A said: depending on what you want

I have already the smallest cached vz E5 at your node ATLCVZE5-1, I was thinking on getting another one if they are getting deployed on a different box. (I just see one at your "Node status" page, that's why I asked).

Right, we don't have another CVZ-E5 yet (probably next week ETA), but I can put you on an E3 if you want. The main difference is space. The fact that E3 isn't listed on our homepage doesn't mean we won't be keeping it around. Just no new hardware orders for it.
