  • Just keep in mind that this company will limit your port to 30Mbs :—)

There is no port limitation unless internet bandwidth is abused.

  • @regele what is your refund policy?

    Hello,

Depends on the cause, more information can be found on the site at TOS: https://www.hostclean.net/knowledgebase/1/Terms-of-Services.html

You don't have anything in your AUP that mentions this and when I asked you said that there is no limitation and that your services are best effort due to no guaranteed bandwidth on a shared port. If you had said that I had used an excessive amount of bandwidth (<3TB) I would have had no problem.

You are lying, and anyone reading this thread should know.

    Hello,

Nobody minds anything. As I said before, there is no traffic limit, but once you have 300 MB of traffic for more than half a day, it's normal to find a solution. If you want to paote allocate port of 1 GB DEDICATED! DAR at that port costs, and I assume you do not agree to pay $ 50 a month for that 1 GB port just for you! We have customers who have traffic of 10-15 TB per month. There was no limit.

    300MB in 12 hours? 600MB in 24 hours.

    720 hours in a month = ~432000MB = ~432GB

    You are full of shit.

  • What I am pissed about is that you don't mention these limitations/policies anywhere. If you had, I would have had no problem.

You opened the ticket with this problem, I told you why it was limited, then I pulled the limit after your ip.

Thanks for letting me know in post on LET and not on the ticket itself. Really appreciate your lack of communication and transparency.

They are probably using a shitty node monitoring script which auto limits containers it sees using 'large amounts' of BW in a short period. I have seen this same shitty script in use on other OpenVZ hosts who think that using such a script is fair to their customers when in reality it actually results in a poor experience for 'real' customers for several reasons:

    1. Anyone who actually uses their server bandwidth ends up with this limit

    2. The limit isn't stated openly and just 'happens' and you receive no notification on why you were limited

    3. This results in having to open a ticket to get the limit removed, however, support will also fail to inform you that this automated script will limit you again as soon as you reach the same usage as caused it previously (as the only thing they will do is reset the limit and they won't disable this script for your container).

    4. Once you have been through steps 1-3 a few times you will wish to rip your hair out and will likely just stop using the server and move on to another provider

The worst part about this? Most providers I have found running this script will claim "I don't know why you are seeing this" and will just keep resetting it over and over and when you ask for a permanent solution they can't provide one. These type of hosts I usually end up canceling after a month and adding to my "will not do business with again" list.

Now, I could be wrong, but this just sounds like a familiar situation to me. Though I will mention one thing, when you pay peanuts you should expect peanuts and not avocados. So on that note, even if your being limited here, you are likely actually getting what you paid for. If you want something better, raise your budget and find a better/different provider instead of continuing to complain here.

    my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

  • @TheLinuxBug You are absolutely correct. This is a meme server I picked up to add to my collection of idlers and I don't expect much from it but the attitude of the support/management is what pissed me off.

I agree with you, but they do not want to. I have nothing to do if she wants to use 300 MB on a regular basis, I'll assign 1GB port that costs 50 dollars, this port is dedicated to the customer, and can use 1GB, no one else has it.

You are annoyed by your support because you have been told why it was automatically limited. I took that limit afterwards and everything went back to normal.
