Dallas OpenVZ 256mb 1cpu 15-30gb non-ssd wanted

This is very simple, I hope.
Must be a Dallas VPS
256mb minimum
1cpu is fine
500GB of bandwidth or there abouts
15gb of hard disk. Does not need to be ssd. Would prefer 30 but to keep costs down, with the option to add more.
1 clean IPv4 and IPv6 address
No incoming or outgoing port restrictions
Allowed to run a small irc server on nondescript network. We're talking low bandwidth not EFnet or IRCnet etc.

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

I do not tolerate spam or flooding and make liberal use of iptables to stop both if necessary.

Please PM me your quote, would prefer annual with a trial period to make sure everything works fine.

    @SpeedyKVM_Ryan

    15$/year

    1CPU

    256MB

    12GB disk

    10TB transfer @ 1Gbps port

This seem fit you fine expect disk and virt (KVM and 12GB only)

  • I have talked to them before, they claim they are KVM servers and they're not, they're OpenVZ. I was looking for somewhere to run a 3.x kernel and most providers use the old OpenVZ which only has the 2.6x kernel. It's a bit of a bait and switch I feel and 'Jimmy" didn't like me telling him that.

Yes, that is exactly what I need. I'll give my current provider, INIZ, a few more hours to figure out why they are blocking network traffic to one of my ports and if they can't figure it out, then I'm gone.

Uhh, no. SpeedyKVM is KVM. If you can't change the kernel, then you are doing something wrong. I have services with them, I know what I'm talking about.

Checkout HostUS Dallas location, solid service as well.

  • I asked if I could run any kernel and he said no because they run openvz. Just repeating what I was told.

Sure you're not on wable? I 100% know it's KVM and use multiple servers there

You were certainly misinformed, SpeedyKVM only offers the KVM virtualization and you can run the kernel of your choice. Especially the 3.x kernel if you would like.

I thought this was going to work out but it seems they won't give you console access to your own server. I guess I can't be trusted to know what I'm doing. Shame, these guys have gone a long way to help me out this could be a problem. I don't want other people poking around my vm on my behalf if I mess up.

  • You need KVM or OpenVZ? I dont get the tittle "Dallas OpenVZ 256mb 1cpu 15-30gb non-ssd wanted"

  • Highly recommend the service of @CenTexHosting.

@RyanArp 's CatalystHost has some nice Dallas deals. Looking in his WHMCS these are still offered:

Great provider. Those are OpenVZ so you'd have to PM or ticket to get kernel details.
