I got one. The connection speed to Linode is very slow, but much better for Softlayer.

I've started a bench.sh about an hour ago and it's still not done yet. Disk I/O is subpar. I guess I can't complain since it's free.

Server location seems to be in NYC.

Edit: It has completed. Below are the results.

  • @dennelly You don't get to choose the location. I think they probably only have NYC location.

Yes we will be launching more sites soon. Just wanted to say that systemongrid was started by bunch of guys similar to the ones who hangout here. It has all been our sweat money and we have not yet reached any investor for funding as of yet. Hence we are slow in expanding, but hopefully we will be adding atleast California soon.

We definitely do understand your concerns and I will not be advocating to register an account with systemongrid.com. Just wanted to say that we are bunch of guys just like yourself and we have started systemongrid with our own money. We have not raised any funding yet. We are not perfect and the whole thing has been overwhelming. We did update the whois records for transparency. I am just trying to have our voice heard. And if it helps to build trust, let me know and I can give you a validation code so that you can try our services without providing the credit card. I am one of the developers and I can provide a backdoor by bypassing the credit card validation. And I will just post the process here so that all people visiting this site can use it for a limited time. The whole point of using a credit card for validation is just to avoid abuse of system on grid.

Yes we are using a virtual address because we have a very small setup right now. Its been just over a year and team of 7 people who has been working on this. We have put all our own money without approaching any VC yet. Things have been tight and we have been putting more money on buying servers than actually investing on a decent office in NYC. Thats the next plan. I do not expect people to just take it for what I say, but I am just making our voice heard. We have already registered System On Grid LLC and we have a DNB number. We will be moving to a proper office soon. But we all the resources that we have, we could only do so much and we are trying to do things better.

Though this is really hilarious but its actually very rough on us. Somehow we did not realize that our logo has a Hitachi Wand in it. But we loved that Logo and we see the space and the data motion in it. We are not perverts nor weirdos. Just a bunch of guys who thought Cloud can be simpler and cheaper. I am not going to try convincing you to trust us, but then the hitachi wand comparison is little too much. But we will still love our logo and we see it differently.
