Did you? The thread is about host solutions being down. It's a good way to check if anyone else is having issues.

Where does it indicate that it's a support thread? If you're going to be an asshole, be a good one like @nekki

Not sure why you guys come to LET for help. I guess it's @cociu fault for supporting on here.

  • Open a thread for 20-30 minutes of downtime.

@cociu Think about setting up a StatusCake or similar status-page hosted outside your infra, and email the link to all clients, asking them to bookmark it.

You can post any network/power outage information over there, since your WHMCS is already in same network,
(and can go down along with DC.)

Add the link to your support ticket footer template also maybe.

@cociu Can't access my storage vps, and main website look down, confirmed with:

Read again. I'm being on-topic, while you are just spamming this thread.

I don't get why you feel the need to call me an asshole, but I definitely do know who is the asshole now.

LET is not a support forum for any company. You need to contact your provider directly for support. Simple as that.

If you are extreme low budget provider than LET is your support board and a knowledge base.

Indeed, you would not believe the amount of PM's I get here (probably the same for all hosts) asking for support rather than opening a ticket, I just don't respond to them anymore as it started getting out of hand.

if it is a basic question then ok, no worries, but 9 times out of 10 it is clearly something that should be done via a ticket so I ignore it.

I fully agree. With a but: It's not hostsolutions to abuse LET for support. It's the users who do that.

Once such requests are here it's a loose/loose for the provider. He can refuse to provide support (or at least hints) here - then many customers will think "asshole!". Or he can at least provide short answers and hints - then others here think "asshole!".

So, it's the users that should be scolded and not the providers.

And btw. the current case is somewhat special in that a large number of users/customers is concerned, which in IMO does indeed justify toexceptionally use LET as a blackboard (which @cociu did not do)..

    I completely agree with @bsdguy.

Providers can do what they want, there will always be people who aren't happy...

Someone opens a thread about... let's call them Hostquad - no one replies for weeks - people complain

Someone opens a thread about Provider XY - Provider gets highlighted - Provider replies - different people complain

Someone opens a thread about hostsolutions - @cociu replies within two (!!!111) minutes - different people complain
