What about:
1GB Dedicated RAM
15GB SSD
1TB Bandwidth
2 shared CPU Cores
1gbps port
1 IPv4
OpenVZ
12EUR per year
Available in BG, DE, UK, NY, LA.
@AlexBarakov - nice offer how can I order that offer?
https://alphavps.bg/clients/link.php?id=2
1GB is actually quite a bit for a nameserver.. you could likely get by with 512MB or less, depending on your distribution of choice. Personally, I'd go for a KVM with less RAM over a higher RAM OpenVZ, but that's because I don't really trust services to always work properly under OVZ.
I accidentally typed over my suggestions for free secondary NS:
HE.net offers free DNS services, BuddyNS, Puck, Afraid.org, et al.
I assume no IPv6 in the LA location?
Check budgetnode.com for fully-featured VPS out https://lowendbox.com/blog/budgetnode-ddos-protected-vps-starting-3month-usa-europe/
Thank you for all your answers. I registered with https://alphavps.bg/. As of now everything goes very well as for that price.
Have you think about dnsmadeeasy.com ? It's not a VPS though.
I've always used my domain registrar's dns and it's worked fine. Wonder what I'm missing.
How come the service is totally free?
Always use a KVM for dns, I tried with a whole host of openvz servers but they constantly failed.

Slightly random, but I can certainly vouch for @UltraVPS. Recently cancelled mine after like two years (overkill for me, need something smaller), but their performance and service is top-notch. Definitely my favorite in Germany.
Because we can :-) i run a hosting company so it's no big deal to host some dns servers.
Where are the DNS servers located?
It's free. Are you too damn lazy to trace the IPs yourself?
I am on mobile. Also you could ping the website IP but he said some DNS servers, which could mean different locations.
Fair enough. When you are back on a home network, just make an account and see what's there?
ns1 at AS20857 (TransIP) Netherlands
ns2 at AS198203 (RamNode) Netherlands
ns3 at AS34549 (OnVirt) Germany
ns1 will be changed next week to our own netwerk AS64427
@joeri Do you think at some point you would add a second domain for one of the NS?
We working on that. Our whitelabel services have domains on different tld's
Today we launched two-factor authentication
