  • welcome to the arubacloud support desk.

  • All i can see is admin.dc1.arubacloud.com as a test ip (for pinging only), replace dc1 with dc2-6 for different locations. Traceroute them to figure out which dc is which location.

    yeah yeah i know.

I tried the live chat, but apparently no one is there to attend me.
I could probably get faster answer here than waiting for the ticket.

    Thanks.
It requires registration to access; but well, still better than nothing.

Oh wait. pay first register later? dang.

no, just ping those hostnames as test ips for their locations.

For $1 per month asking for the test files before buy just rude. Order then test by self

Aruba has 6 different datacenters. On witch are you interested to? Maybe I can run a test speed and a benchmark for you. (I have services in Milano I)

    Donate them your Snickers

Mario-supersaver, let's hope they provide you direct bw trough Kazakhstan ;)

  • I can max out my home connection on the US west coast to Aruba's UK location over OpenVPN all day long. They are more than awesome for the EUR 1 you pay per month.

    b) did you, @zilch, verify that the IPs you listed are actual 1€ VPS IPs?

    Dear Customer,
please be aware that we do not have official adrresses to test, moreover, the connection latency can vary due to many factors, the distance is not the only.
As a courtesy, I provide a list of IPs belonging to staff test servers, please take this infomation as-it-is, without guarantee
Please also remember that Cloud Smart servers can not be migrated from one datacenter to another.

  • Send me the money it costs to spin up a VM in each of the locations you want to test and I will setup some temporary looking glasses for you. :P
Would be easier (and cheaper) for you though, to just opt for the hourly payment and try everything for just a few cents yourself...

Cant do hourly payments on those 1 euro/month servers. Cant migrate them to a different datacenter either.

Sure, I know. But in which way would that affect his network related tests?

Hmmm, strange. I did. Twice. (I started in Italy but the network there was too shitty)

Holy shit how can you afford to migrate those!?

That's not migrating, that's destroying the old vm before the lease is up without a refund, and then paying full price for a new one. Nothing migrate-y about it.

  • Still, a whole euro to do so.. you are aware it's VMware based, right?

  • I was wondering the same thing a while ago, so I rented a few of their hourly billed extra IPs in each datacenter and checked the subnets.

The extra IPs can't be assigned to the 1€ servers, but as far as I could check they're from the same subnets as the 1€ servers.
