6000+ passmark / 4-8GB / 500GB+ HDD / 1 gbps

I've currently got 3 cheap servers, looking to combine them.

needs:

  • Fair amount of CPU (1 fast or a bunch of slower cores are both fine, minimum passmark 6000, preferred 8000+)
  • 1gbps preferred, with 20TB in each direction OR 100mbps true unmetered
  • 500GB-1TB hard drive, no need for ssd
  • 4-8GB ram
  • 1 IPv4, would like IPv6 also, but not critical
  • Server for personal use, 98% uptime is fine
  • If a sale is coming soon I can wait
  • US location preferred
  • Bitcoin preferred / No ID verification preferred
  • Dedicated preferred, KVM/Xen ok if not oversold

budget:

about $20/month (I'm fine switching to quarterly/annually after trying it out for a month or 2, if that helps the price)

Comments

  • With this budget, Cyber Monday would be a good try. Or check out if any provider's going to run a sale during Christmas.

  • Kimsufi KS-4C in BHS would have been a good match, too bad you're a couple of months late :) Only thing is the 100mbit connection, but at least it's truly unmetered, whatever it means.

I was hoping to get more cpu power than that, but if nothing else shows up I'll definitely jump on that Joe's deal. Thanks for the link.

I had a host once that advertised as 100mbps unmetered traffic, but if you averaged more than 60mbps for any 5 days in a row they changed your port to a 10mbps. I guess it pays to read all the fine print.

More CPU power? @Virmach has some good E3 deals, but you have to raise your budget a bit. At least 3x the resources you are looking for (except for the bandwidth), at an amazing price.
