Ticketing system
For enhanced support quality, we are bringing our ticketing system
online for all support emails. Starting today, emails sent to
[email protected] will be entered into our ticketing system
automatically. Current customers can view all of their tickets by
signing in to our new Client Portal.

Client Portal
https://my.volumedrive.com/
We are also announcing the launch of our client portal. From this
interface, you can view your invoice history and pay invoices. The
client portal also allows you to manage your support tickets: You
can create new tickets and reply to existing ones. (We will be
adding additional features to the client portal in the near future,
as well.)

Horray!

About time!! Might buy something now. The big question though, does it work and does it look good?

And above all of that, what makes you think they will use it?

  • Emails are forwarded to the ticket system.

Pricing is still expensive though, to the point where it's hardly profitable.

You think VD prices are expensive?

  • Once all the addons, etc are on. Compared to the margins I have at other locations, yes.

    haha fair enough, I just priced up an E3 | 16 GB | 2 x 1TB | 64IP's for about $100 p/month, the only place I can get that cheaper is in a spare bedroom :)

Anyway raid 1... so not even worth a sniff.

edit: that was an x3450 not E3

  • How about raid10, who's mad enough to run a production node with paying clients on raid1.

  • I use RAID 10, and the IPs I pay full price.

I agree, sadly many think it is fine, and I suppose it is as long as people are aware of what they are buying before they buy it.

  • Wow, they finally have a panel. Makes me want to buy a server just to test the customer panel.

  • Finally.

  • I hope it means support improves. Having a portal doesn't automatically mean there will be support.

Should have gone to spec savers!

  • @AnthonySmith said: Should have gone to spec savers!

    Haha!

Anyone know what the new panel is like? I remember having a server with them ages ago and they still kept on insisting they were working on a panel. Lets see if it can live up to the long development.

    Hmm: https://my.volumedrive.com/support/

I am not a customer, but I am guessing OSTicket has something to do with it as its sitting there in the back :)

"Copyright © osTicket.com. All rights reserved" that pretty funny given that they "have been developing their own system" for 2 years.

  • PacketVMPacketVM Member, Host Rep

Wow :P Do they use it though?

Just submitted a "test" ticket, and got a reply in 2 minutes.

Seems VolumeDrive have noticed the benefits of tickets over emails then.

Looks like it. took them 2 years to install osticket though.

    That's good to know.

Don't annoy sales/support teams. I really hope you didnt open a ticket just saying "testing your help desk"

    No, I asked a question :P

    Was it a stupid question?

Im kidding. Personally tickets that dont have a question or responses that don't add any real value to a ticket are annoying. Responding "Thanks!" just makes me have to manually close the ticket.
