Florida LET providers

Hi,

I am looking for solid VPS providers in Florida. I am aware of NodeServ (great provider in my opinion), but wondering if there are any other good options.

  • BudgetVM in Miami has improved the past 3-6 months.

    Securedragon and just /thread.

    Francisco

  • Francisco said: and just /thread.

    I don't understand by just /thread?

  • We have LXC or KVM, HDD or SSD services in Tampa.

  • +1 for SecureDragon. Solid people behind and wonderful control panel.

Francisco means go with SecureDragon and end of thread because they are simply one of the best providers out there.

  • Miami is one of the DeepNetSolutions locations. Never tried them, but only heard good things about.

  • I also recommend SecureDragon.

  • I guess you can't be wrong with @KuJoe and his "Secure Dragon". ;)
It's him and his service that got me infected with this (costly) LEB/LES hobby, almost three years ago. :P

Thanks for the recommendations all. :)

@AdamM feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want a quote for one or more of our Tampa OpenVZ or KVM VPSs (we have some promo codes floating around I can share with you depending on the plan you're looking at).

Hello. I bought nodeserv VPS and have slow IO. Beware if you choose OpenVZ VPS with HDD.

    # wget freevps.us/downloads/bench.sh
    # bash bench.sh -io
    Disk Speed
    ----------
    I/O (1st run) : 24.0 MB/s
    I/O (2nd run) : 45.8 MB/s
    I/O (3rd run) : 14.0 MB/s
    Average I/O : 27.9333 MB/s

I requested refund and they didnt reply yet.

If that is a bad score, what would be a good score? Not trolling, I just don't know much about that particular test. Have you had slow services when it counts (ie page loading) or only in benchmarks?

  • Just realized that Vulr has a miami location. Cool. Anyone use their florida location? Do they have similar reputation in all their data centers? What is their reputation these days?

Hello. That is the typical result but the first time I took the test because the console though ssh was slow and hanging, and the test gave 2MB/s however it look it was a temporary issue.

I have more VPS and I get better results in all I tested.

      Crissic Unmanaged 100gb (not in business anymore) - Average I/O : 118.5 MB/s
      HostSailor 60gb - Average I/O : 471.667 MB/s
      HostUS 150gb - Average I/O : 1.2 GB/s (Amazing!)

Nodeserv had 150gb. By the way, the accepted my refund request at last.

Glad you were able to get the desired refund.

It seems like I have had better luck with them.

    VaporNode, SecureDragon, DeepNetSolutions.

    First two got custom panels.

    Is that a good thing?

It seems to me that time spent on custom panels is money spent not on hardware/support/etc. The standard panels used by most LET hosts seems to have everything I need... what do you think?

Actually, no. Existing panels such as SolusVM are limited. VaporNode's panel is awesome in my opinion. Never tested SecureDragon's one but I heard it's pretty amazing too. These guys know their shit.

How is SolusVM limited from an a vps customer perspective (not from a host perspective). Sure you can't spin up a VPS via a rest request (maybe you can??), but most of us don't do that anyways.
