Do any of them allow marketing emails?

    You mean spam?

Only people who don't have a marketing strategy call marketing emails spam. NO, it's not spam. I have been using sendgrid for a year now and i have received 0 spam reports.

I agree with @drdrake, providers and members here on LET just outright jump to SPAM conclusion for anyone inquiring about Email marketing. Even people say "Is Email marketing even alive ? do people still do it?" kind of things out of their gut which just shows how minuscule their digital marketing knowledge is. Sure it does have its caveats, and has its share of bad contenders, but businesses really leverage this traditional marketing platform to generate a significant amount of revenue in every legal and ethical way. Email Service Providers nearly tripled in last 2 years that I have been watching

No, everyone who is not privy to the relationship between an email sender and its recipient can reasonably question how spammy it is. In particular, spammers are notorious for trying to assert that what they're doing is not spamming. If you don't want to be put in the company of spammers, you need to start by not adopting their same arguments when you try to defend you use of email as a marketing tool.

I have been using sendgrid for a year now and i have received 0 spam reports.

Murderers who don't get arrested are still murderers. I used to get upwards of 5000 spam/day at the point I stopped bothering to report them and completely changed my anti-spam measures.

Marketing emails are fine with me. If it's a double opt in list.

Anyone looking for a <= $7/month service isn't implement an email "marketing strategy". They're looking for a cheap means of sending bulk mail.

Well actually I am also looking for an email service to move away from cpanel.

  • Signed up for Mailcheap Starter package but my order ended up in a scam folder. Emailed support on that and the service was completed after receiving scan of my ID and PayPal screenshot. But after configuring and adding 10 domains got an email that my account was terminated without reason. Tried to arrange different payment methods (bitcoin) but have been told just to go out.

It's either looks like a scam or child company. Don't signup if you value your time. The service is a real garbage!

    Hello asitnik,

I would like to apologize for wasting your time with verification. While signing up, your order was flagged by Maxmind's fraud detection system due to address being in Russia and IP in Ukraine but later on we received an email warning from Maxmind stating high volume of fraudulent orders from this IP. The Basic 1 plan you ordered had only 1 domain (added a few hrs before) and you were given 48 hrs to migrate the domain/data to a different service before cancellation was processed. We were very clear regarding why the account was being cancelled and the grace period allowed before processing cancellation.

We're working with Maxmind to improve their email warning to be in real-time to avoid these issues in the future.

    Best Regards,

    Pavin.

Adding a vigraxxxx domain didn't help his case either!

MXroute, because the fact that jarland owns it kinda makes me think I'm in the right hands (◕‿◕✿)

Granted, I'm only using it for personal use; only a couple hundred incoming emails per month.

  • @jarland does mxroute have any api integration?

Necro... they do have an affiliate program though.

  • MXRoute is straight forward, and is working great! I've been with them for some time.

  • I'm happy with mxroute for personal email. There's an issue with cpanel that imho makes it unsuitable for hosting other people's email: the plan owner can access all of the mailboxes. So if I make accounts for my friends on one of my domains at mxroute, I can read their email, and I'd rather not have that ability.

I brought this up with Jarland and iirc it's not easily fixable with cpanel. But it should still be temporary since mxroute intends to switch to its own panel (or some other cpanel alternative) at some point.

It's pretty dumb of cpanel to have set things up that way so with any luck, they will someday fix it too.

  • I'm also happy with MXRoute for my company emails (around 20~ accounts with a few hundreds email daily). Works perfect and I'd recommend it.

  • I think @jarland is a pretty swell guy and I respect him, but mail Id never host in the USA, just out or principle.

Been pretty happy with @mailcheap and Pavin is also a really great guy.

All data is located in France, EU. This was important for me as we launched Premium Mail. Re-worked the entire storage system, moved whatever there were in OVH CA to FR even for basic plans.

@datanoise @mailcheap the server my basic plan is on (7) is still in Canada, which is fine for me. In the end there isnt that much of a difference in which physical location I host it anyway, but out of principle I just dont want it in the USA.

Even if someone seizes the server in CA, all they're going to get is access to the front-end and a bunch of heavily crypted passwords. Mailcheap does not store any data outside the EU and we're 100% compliant with EU data protection laws.

Cool to know. I just traced the ip to Canada, so I thought the data would also be there.

In the end, sadly with how intertwined the CIA/GCHQ and other Letter Agencies are I just dont think there is much of a difference in the security aspect. (against Countries, regarding Companies and how they use data, the EU is luckily still a lot better)

I rather have my own government scan my stuff and store it than any foreign nation.
