  • ShardHost,

I just thought the template lists all the services in the services dropdown. However, it does not. That's fine, :)

@pcan said: On the customer account details screen, the mandatory State field should be named State/Province. In many countries there are no states. On whmcs, this field will autocomplete with the province names on my country.

Why this field is mandatory? If you look typical Finnish address, you don't need this field.

I assume you've opened a ticket? If so we'll deal with that there. Thanks for reporting the issue

@tux this address totally looks like a spelling disability.
    However, I ordered one, too.
The second address field was marked with a * but even though I didn't fill it in, the order was placed correctly.

Some things regarding the emails I got:
In the title of the "Welcome to Portal" seems to be a space missing.
Further, I would not send out the users' password in plaintext.
The "Dear" is written in uppercase and there is no complimentary close at the end.

And in the "New Order" mail I would use full stops after each paragraph.
Currently two of them end with "Shardhost", but there is no full stop, even though it would make sense to use ones.

Furthermore, I'd suggest a standard Email-header and -footer.

Thanks for the feedback. The emails are based on the default Hostbill templates, which are not very good. We will be updating them if we decide we are sticking with hostbill

  • The IP that comes with the email times out.

  • The email that contains the server information does not include a link to the SolusVM Panel. Nor is the https://my.shardhost.com/ address mentioned.

@Ishaq any reason it should not time-out?
My Mailserver checks for the correct hostname, but not the IP.

  • @Ishaq said: The IP that comes with the email times out.

SMTP IP or the VM IP?

Thanks, as stated we will be tidying up the email templates and this feedback is invaluable.

  • @ShardHost said: SMTP IP or the VM IP?

    VPS IP

  • Signed up, all worked smooth for me.

  • Network is great:

'Resources' in the summary displays 'Billing'.
Maybe that is because the status is pending.

  • The order form is certainly bugged. I had to enter the coupon code first, and then enter a hostname. I couldn't select a location or template, or I was redirected to the configuration page again on submit.

  • Thanks, this is the default hostbill order form. We have a ticket open with them. They say its fine. We'll get this updated

By the way, the Live-Chat popup is blocked by my firefox (not ABP) itself.
    So I'm redirected to https://my.shardhost.com/index.php

And holy crap.. You really have to work on the mail templates :D
They are all useless. Formatted badly, and barely any information.

The "new Ticket" email is again quite rough.
"Dear" is written in uppercase, again.

The Link to the ticket is just attached at the end, without any explanation.
    Again, no complimentary close.

And do you HAVE to keep that 'Powered by Hostbill' thing in the footer on every page?

    @wassap mine is up..

  • Not sure if you can change the order of the order form....

But, "Country" should be before "Province/State".

  • Guys thanks for the feedback.

We are more than aware about the email template issues (they are hostbill defaults and we will not develop them if we do not continue with hostbill following this trial).

Please feel free to benchmark, although please note at the moment the Dallas network is only at 1/10th the speed.

Please try not to hound us on tickets etc, this is purely to test and we will address tickets as and when we can.

Please open a ticket. No VPS should be offline now. There was some minor maintenance on one node which may have caused downtime.

Actually scratch that, found your account. This node is not being brought forward (we do not own it or any of the chicago nodes).

  • Thanks for everyone has tested so far. These VPS will be start to be taken offline on the 19th of January. We are still accepting sign ups.
