Virtualization for helpdesk testing
What is the best virtualization solution for setting up multiple OS's that will be used for testing by a helpdesk team. This will essentially be a remote lab environment. I have never really setup VM's for anything other than compartmentalizing DB's and similar things, so I am wondering what would be best for full UI virtualization. Thanks for your ideas in advance.
Some things that would be useful:
-Assign static wan IPs to each VM
-Automation to restore VM to previous state/backup nightly

Virtualbox
Well, that depends. VirtualBox has a UI (Separate package) and it's PHP-based. Pretty neat, but no build-in VNC Console (which you can enabled separately).
ESXi comes to mind. It's free, and will do the job.
Proxmox
Virtualbox is the best choice in your situation, I think.
VirtualBox is good, I use it time to time
