Choice of VPS plan (KVM) for $ 120 - $ 130 /month

I'm looking for a new vps kvm to migrate my cpanel accounts that I have divided into 2 instances ovh public cloud.

I have seen the following options, which recommended?.

Option 1: Speedykvm
32GB ECC RAM (31GB usable)
Xeon E3-1230 (8 CPU)
4x 960GB SSD (1750GB usable)
Hardware RAID 10
Full KVM Virtualization
30TB Transfer, 1Gbps Port
1 IPv4 ($1 for more), /64 IPv6

$129.00 / month

Option 2: Buyvm
32 GB Memory
8 Cores @ 3.50+ GHz
640 GB SSD Storage
40 TB @ 1000 Mbps
$120.00 / month

Any better alternative for this price?

Thanks for the interest :) I can pop on an extra 100Gb of space if you wanted the big slice.

We do include a /64 of IPv6 and DDOS protection is also available if that was ever a concern.

To be fair I don't quite have the same personal touch that Gordon does... >> <<

  • Speedykvm has good connection and 100TB transfer and HW raid 10. A end-client usse the storage plan and has 100% uptime from 6 months ago. the negative, are some comments about Gordon/Incero in wht.

About buyvm, I used it in the past, were very competitive plans, and good QoS. And apparently the dedicated slices are only raid-1.

  • why not get a dedicated?

Perhaps so the node is monitored and fixed by someone else?

like managed? dedicated won't need fixing :) (will be havoc if it did)

  • If he is serving latam maybe better go with @Francisco based in East coast

Buy two dedicated servers, setup replication and have high availability?

  • @Francisco is a person that doesn't reply like an arse, not even in the worst scenarios ( when he or his company could be somehow judged).
I can't say the same about Gordon. He mistreated me via PM in the past while asking him some stuff which didn't him to react that way.

We can provide below config dedicated server in Amsterdam, (Leaseweb Server)

    Intel Xeon E3-1230 CPU

    32GB RAM DDR3

    4x1TB SATA2 HDD or 2x120GB SSD

    1Gbps dedicated port

    100TB Bandwidth

    Cost $90 usd/month

  • For that money mate, to serve latam i would likely be thinking an e5 dedi at wholesaleinternet in the states and a failover/load balance at OVH Canada. Should get a lot of different paths between the 2 (though i stand to be corrected) and good times to the americas.
Others may have better suggestions of pairs you could use anycast with.

I believe you can use LET code to cut the price to $97/m.

  • Hello, what location do you need? currently we offer plans with low and high ram in US, if you want contact us by email to see if we can fit your needs

nl is a tad far away from latam..
    check maps.google.com

  • We could provide you the 8 CPU cores and 32GB RAM, but not the large SSD space. How much storage do you require?

Our services are located in Tampa, FL on a network that has great connectivity to Latin America.

WSI is essentially Cogent and HE, both to be forgotten for South America. OVH works but also only as long the Miami peering is not overloaded.

    Hi,

With this price, I am suggesting using Dedicated Server instead .

Your reasons of using KVM because of cheaper CPanel License ?

It's pure HE now, they've dropped cogent:

If interested I have a 2x E5-2660, has 2x500GB SSD can add hw raid 32GB DDR3 ram and 1G/b unmetered bw. Would take me 5 days to set it up still waiting on some my raid cards to come in, price can be discussed as I do not rent out dedicated servers often.

Where wuld you recommend as a colo in the west/southwest with good latam connectivity under $75 a month (what is left from $130 for an e5 at OVH)? This would seem to be the best idea for performance and redundancy, unless there is a better path that avoids miami peering for redundant paths?

(btw - i know its subconscious but you seem so much friendlier without the zionist flag. To be clear - i am pro Semite, but anti-zionist).
