Look up @Nyr 's automatic installer
That's debian only I think
Due to the new internet bans in Turkey, I'm also interested in running my own openVPN server. I have never used a VPN before, so I'll be following this thread too.
Hello netomx ,
I checked the Nyr installer but it seems like it is only for debian os?
I want for centos 6.
Harzem, if you follow the tutorial from http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/21539/tutorial-build-your-ultimate-scrambled-vpn
With a few changes, you can do it.
openvpn-as is very easy to setup and free upto 2 users: http://openvpn.net/index.php/access-server/download-openvpn-as-sw/113.html?osfamily=CentOS
rpm -i openvpn-as-2.0.5-CentOS6.x86_64.rpm
passwd openvpn
open the url given by the install program, log in with openvpn account and activate the server.
Be sure that your VPS supports tun/tap otherwise openvpn won't work.
should return: cat: /dev/net/tun: File descriptor in bad state
Easiest way is to reinstall ur vps with Debian 6 32 or 64 and use Nyr's script. It works perfectly and it'll be setup in minutes easily without you having to do lots of configuring
Openvpn-as is easier to set up but uses more memory. There's a Debian guide if you need visuals http://board.prometeus.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=824&sid=11d8437a4fd9efe9a80a32cbf3c75e16 just replace the wget url with the link to your OS version package and "dpkg -i" with "rpm -ivh" (like what MuZo said, rpm -ivh openvpn-as-2.0.5-CentOS6.x86_64.rpm)
If you don't mind setting things up manually, try this tutorial: http://www.tipupdate.com/how-to-install-openvpn-on-centos-vps/ One little note if you're using an Android client, add this line to your /etc/openvpn/server.conf or you might get some error about "openvpn tun_builder_error ifconfig addresses are not in the same /30 subnet":
push "topology subnet"
Might be easier if you try first then let us know if you run into any problems.

Another great OpenVPN guide that isn't often mentioned (or so I believe!) is LowEndBox's, written by @mpkossen: Getting started with OpenVPN (server).
Note that if the virtualization layer of your VPS is OpenVZ, your iptables configuration should be as following for OpenVPN:
-A INPUT -p udp -m state --state NEW -m udp --dport 1194 -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -s 10.8.0.0/24 -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -j REJECT
to accept and forward connections on port 1194 to OpenVPN; then, in the
*nat
part:-A POSTROUTING -o venet0 -j SNAT --to 37.187.247.102
Those iptables to accept 1194 are if you're using CSF. If not, you just need the last one.
Ok will try the tutorials and see if am able to install.
I tried the @Nyr script. The installation went succesfull and i download the config files.
I am running windows 8.1.64 bit and follewed this guid (http://www.vpntutorials.com/tutorials/openvpn-client-setup-tutorial-for-windows-8/) to install openvn on my windows.

@MuZo Currenly ur command not working... Please Tell other command which allow access to OpenVpn panel
Reviving a 2 year old thread nice, also maybe it doesn't work because that version is old and they don't want to host it anymore. Also you could just go to their website to get the proper think http://swupdate.openvpn.org/as/openvpn-as-2.0.25-CentOS6.x86_64.rpm
@CFarence I have run command on root as wget http://swupdate.openvpn.org/as/openvpn-as-2.0.25-CentOS6.x86_64.rpm
then rpm -i openvpn-as-2.0.25-CentOS6.x86_64.rpm
then passwd openvpn and entered password it says all tokens updated succesfully but i unable to access https://myip:1194/?src=connect or https://myip:943/?src=connect
It showing unable to connect or secure connection fail for 1194 ip
So please help me.
Are you on OpenVZ?
Please make sure you have configured iptables correctly and enabled net.ipv4.ip_forward.
You can refer to this guide for more details:
http://wiki.vpsget.com/index.php/OpenVPN_on_Centos_6
Don't forget to make name of the network interface match one in the iptables rules.
Also disable selinux if enabled.

The most easy way to install OpenVPN is to use the installation script. Just request in google "openvpn install script" and click on the first link on GitHub.
I gave up and installed Softether VPN, it works as a treat and quite happy so far. Also installation is quite easy, and supports openvpn protocol.
