So i have a spare VPS....
Well as the title suggests i have a spare vps.
I would like to use it too give some of my friends free webhosting (maybe 5 small sites)
i have tried Kloxo and it was just too cluttered for me and I was looking for something more in the Debian/Ubuntu
OS side

Use ISPcp
http://isp-control.net/
ISPCP hasn't been updated for a year now with their Stable release. It looked VERY promising initially when it forked from VHCS.
I used Syscp ( http://www.syscp.de/ ) for years and loved it, ran really well and stable on Debian than like a lot of projects the team had a falling out. However some of the core developers forked and made Froxlor ( http://www.froxlor.org/ ) a couple of years back, it is really lightweight, super simple for the end users, and functional. It's also actively developed.
Here's a couple of others, however I have zero experience with them:
http://www.openpanel.com/
http://ehcp.net/

Checking all the suggested ones out thanks guys
And about this one?
www.ispconfig.org/
Nginx support it seems. I still don't try it u_u
Well, You can try webmin. I think thats a good alternative.
I don't have much experience with free panels though, My strong point is cPanel.
+1 for webmin
Another one is EHCP: http://ehcp.net/
Virtualmin would probably suit your needs better than Webmin.
Although, you need Webmin installed to install Virtualmin. :P
Just curious if anyone is doing the @home or folding projects with their spare vpses.
+1 Virtualmin
More correctly, Virtualmin will install webmin.
http://www.openpanel.com/ and http://www.froxlor.org/ are good in my opinion. http://www.virtualmin.com/is also good.
However personally I prefer managing it all via CL, give your users access to thier own dir for their website etc.
