hetzner ex40-ssd vs ex41-ssd

ex40-ssd costs 50 eur:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1246 v3 @ 3.50GHz
32 GB DDR4 RAM
2 x 120 gb SSD (raid1)

ex41-ssd costs 39 eur:
Intel® Core™ i7-6700 Quad-Core Skylake
32 GB DDR4 RAM
2 x 500 GB 6 Gb/s SSD (Software-RAID 1)

Currently i am using ex40-ssd, so if i switch to ex41 i have to pay 79 euros for setup. It is worth it?

  • use?
    do you care about ram?

  • for longterm use yeah

  • EX40-SSD has 32 GB DDR3 RAM

  • 2x 500GB SSD instead of 2x120. Definitely worth it

If you use server for business, hosting important data and data bases - e3 with no questions. I7 is a desktop hardware, good for non important data or game servers.

  • ex41-ssd looks better in terms of price and hard drive. So if you plan to keep it for 7 months or more, then definitely go for it.

Or, if you care about ECC, you should keep what you have now, since i7 doesn't have ECC support.
