  • Strangely that wasn't the case for me.

    @KuJoe said:
It was power related. All of my servers and our nodes were rebooted/power cycled.

  • All my servers were also rebooted.

    Hope that good news.
I hope all servers will online asap.

  • Been a customer there for ~2yrs now, has anyone else noticed the amount of massive fails have increased dramatically since (putting it bluntly) the $20 offer's came out?

  • Mine was rebooted as well, in private colocation.

It seems like they are experiencing DDoS Attacks as QuickPacket yesterday, any relationship/same operation?

It's like all the threads are on providers I'm with are now down... I don't want to see another "(insert_reputable_provider_here) down."

  • From Dacentec Support

Many apologies, we have been experiencing some power loss at our Lenoir, NC Data Center which may impact your services at that site. We are currently working to restore services as quickly as possible, but have no ETA at this time.

As long as the core is directly connected with it's peers/neighbors, it is safe to null

I'm not sure if they meant the network equipment in Lenoir or Atlanta. Either way it sucks.

I get a warm happy feeling every time I see an outage at Dacentec and pat myself on the back to be 50 miles away in Charlotte

  • 2 hours down.
most servers are up, but unluckily my server still down. OMG.

  • who of you died already? no one? so what's the problem? uptime just is overrated...

I wish they weren't so popular now. Before they started attracting the wrong clients the network stability and performance were amazing.

Singled homed Telia doesn't help though.

When did that change? Last I checked they had 3 upstreams with 1 backhauled to Atlanta.

  • KuJoeKuJoe Member, Host Rep

bgp.he.net is showing 5 peers for IPv4. Traceroutes are only showing 4 of them though (from 8 different US locations).

Some time ago, they have their backhaul to Atlanta in place still thats how they still pick up HE's routes via Telx TIE Atlanta.

But their transit is now single homed via Telia Charlotte, Level 3 hands off to Telia and I see no announcements from them via Level 3.
