    I wonder what happened, you didnt get anywhere near the advertised "up to" numbers.

  • jhjh Member

    @JoeMerit

    Those numbers are theoretical maximums based on manufacturer tests. They're not a suggestion of what a particular VPS can get at a particular time with a particular test.

    How about you advertise real world numbers instead of theoretical maximums that are seemingly unachievable.

    There are already links to Geekbench and Serverbear for those who are interested in those tests.

  • The IO from Phil's run is much lower than I've seen previously.....

    I think he may have been doing something on his server. The numbers I have on one of mine are consistent:

    root@shared [~]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 2.47533 s, 434 MB/s
  • @jhadley Server was a fresh install.

    Feel free to email me your login details if you're concerned about this :)

  • @jhadley

    Not concerned, the IO I am getting is fine.
