Anyone used them? Might get their "HP MicroServer L" to store some backups on.
Dual Core 1.5Ghz CPU, 16GB RAM (why?), dual 3TB drives for 49 Euros/mo. It can take up to 4 drives + one 2.5" SSD.
(In case your wondering, upgrading the 4GB RAM one to dual 3TB drives is more expensive).

I had a horrible time with them, there's a post on WHT somewhere.

@simplenode if it's just backup, what space do you need? Flexible on location and backup tool?
@craigb Need around 1TB to begin with, any location is fine (US preferred). I have a few different things to backup, so I'll need a dedi with full root, not just a backup service.
@simplenode ok - was going to suggest Amazon Glacier - command line tools available now and extremely cheap per GB pricing. One idea is to use a "lesser" machine as a kind of "staging area"/buffer between your backup clients and a cloud storage service. Or simply using something like Glacier for bulk simple file backup and a smaller dedi or VPS for the not-so-simple-to-backup stuff. In Europe OVH wins for cheap backup dedi...for US, I've seen mentions on here before of cheap dedi's - might be worth a search.
kimsufi.com 19.66$ for 1TB
hetzner.de 329.51$ for 45TB (7.32/TB)
