Best seedbox for PT?

Hello everyone,

I am now using Kimsufi's KS-3 as my own seedbox, for PT, not BT.

But the 100Mbps port often makes leeching too slow.

Are there any recommendations? (Except online.net)

Budget: up to 20 Euros.

    Unfortunately, IPT strictly banned this...

Try Scaleway with premium bandwidth so (they are Online.net anyway). You'll pay 0,02eur per GB of traffic on premium bandwidth (1gbps link) plus 2,99eur for the server.

  • If only leech and download for personal usage, ZXPlay OpenVZ Storage may fit.

Why would you choose premium bandwidth for a seedbox? IPT is a big tracker, pretty likely there are several seedboxes at online.net which would make speed fast.

In some racks you will get poor network speeds because of tons of people running seedboxes. If you look forward you will see pretty bad results (30/40mbps) on a 200mbps link because of this. As OP was complaining about slow leeching speeds, premium bandwidth can be a relatively cheap solution to achieve good results.

  • What's PT?

  • Private trackers that's so 2009

  • What are the cool kids using nowadays then?

I never had a private tracker.

I never heard of torrenting either. It must be something used by aliens and reptiles from the 6th dimension.

    Amirite?

  • Use http://feralhosting.com? Although its a shared seedbox.

XD well there isn't really anything special about them anymore, right?

Only one tracker is really good, if you are anal about music quality.

  • I've been using seedhost.eu for a couple of months now, it's been pretty good. Very fast leeching. With your budget, I would probably go with Feral Hosting, since everyone seems to be recommending them (or atleast everywhere I've looked, they've been recommended).

    • I'm currently downloading a TV show from a Spanish tracker and it isn't available elsewhere with decent quality.

    • English and Romanian TV trackers have some compilations with consistent quality which aren't available in public trackers.

    • SCC has some old archives which you can't get elsewhere without scene access.

    • Scene trackers get some foreign content which isn't leaked elsewhere.

    • nCore has some english content which isn't seeded in public trackers.

    • InMAC is the source for content which sometimes doesn't leak to other places.

    • PornoLab has a lot of content and compilations which aren't available/seeded elsewhere.

    • KaraGarga is exclusively dedicated to rare content which is very difficult to find elsewhere.

    • The two gaming trackers have some old archives and releases which are very difficult to find.

    • Plenty of ebooks are only available at Bibliotik plus you can make requests for content you can't get access to and they will generally be filled. This is also applicable to What.CD and Empornium if you offer a good bounty.

...and as you said, What.CD is the greatest music library which has ever existed.

If you don't know more than one good tracker then you mustn’t have tried the right ones yet. For almost every type of media content out there, there is a tracker that usually has a better selection, is easier to use, and has a better community than most if not all other sources, legal or otherwise. The one exception to this that I can think of are mobile apps and games - there have been attempts at running trackers that serve these, but ultimately they didn't work out and DDL sites are still king - as far as I know, at least.

    send a pm my wai
and use the rutracker while you can and save the what ratio for the rare as a ks-1 sounds

  • scaleway has been great for me, otherwise give seedhost /feral/whatbox/etc a try, all are good. The one provider I found here greencloudvps are very good as well

  • @Nyr wow great list :) I'd say there are plenty of choices for movies and games. Rutracker appears to have everything old and rare (?). But ebooks, music, apps, country specific content..

It is interesting that you mention "rare", which is actually all that I use torrents for. I think illegal torrents would take a hit, if companies decided to make all their old stuff available in very high quality for a reasonable price..

If you have the right contacts or sponsor some boxes: FTP. Same as 10 years ago.

Usenet was sort of popular, but too much abuse nowadays even on the NL providers. Now focused on some boards with encrypted headers.

P2P is still popular and works fine, private trackers are good for stuff you can't get on usenet/FTP (non scene and collections mainly) and if you can wait half an hour apre instead of having it 5s apre you can save quite a lot of credits (FTP credits depending on site are 1:2-1:10, P2P ratio is like 1:10, at least on TL)
