ChicagoVPS Maintenance
CVPS_Chris
Member, Patron Provider
For those of you that are clients and do not read their emails, I figured I would get ahead of the curve and post before you make an untrue post about how your VPS is down and we are not responding to tickets.
All hands are on deck, so there wont be much support going on until the window is over. Please be patient.
Thanks,
Chris

i hope it's only 30 minutes downtime.
One can hope =(. We shall see shortly.
My VPS is still up. Nobody is responding to any tickets. I demand the promised downtime.
Same here.
Only HostBluff can give you promised downtime.
@MannDude
Hahahaa. No doubt there.
wow. My site is up again with everything "INTACT". PINGDOM DOWNTIME IS A LIE!

Everything in Chicago took downtime.
Everything in Buffalo only "looks" like it took downtime, but no traffic was lost over the Chicago maintenance. Mearly the lack of DNS Caching on Pingdom's part.
@jskinkle Offering Parallels licenses yet?
ChicagoVPS seems to have fairly good reviews, but I'm still somewhat unsure about getting a VPS from them.
@wdq What's your budget/needs?
@AsadHaider I was looking at either the 1GB VPS for $5 per month or the 2GB VPS for $7 per month.

@wdq If you pay yearly for the 2GB one, it works out at $60 which is $5/mo. I'll be getting one or two next week in Buffalo, just waiting for them to release more info on their Parallels licensing...
They have a $7.50/mo cPanel offer on right now too. Can't beat that.
@wdq I had a 2gb for a few months to use as a temporary Minecraft server for a family member. Had no complaints from them (and they were previously using a spare Windows box in the house), and uptime was solid, although it did get restarted with no prior warning once (not that I asked for an explanation as I wasn't bothered).
@Nekki I just ordered the 2GB VPS in Buffalo. Random reboots (as long as they aren't very frequent) shouldn't be an issue for what I'm going to do with this VPS.
I've been using Chicago vps for a few weeks. no complaints. everything works, everything is fast and the price is really good.
My experience with them is very good
Same here. Been with them for a few months and it has been good.
Thanks guys the maintenance seemed to went pretty solid... yay!
@VPS_Chris
May I ask what you changed?
It was a network upgrade, new routing gear etc. with a much much higher BW capacity
means its a good time to get services from you guys?
@CVPS_Chris
Ah. very nice. I actually find my ping is lower, but many of the users I have down in the Brazilian/Argentina area are experiencing spikes for some reason.
The forces behind unexplained latency spikes...
@jcaleb
Its a great company with great services. I highly recommend them.
Thanks @Cirium.
@wdq while we are a different provider, I can assure you that ChicagoVPS is a solid provider. You can buy with confidence, they are good.
@AsadHaider i glazed over your response. As soon as I am back from surgery later today, i plan on getting caught up on my behind tasks.
thanks @vpsnodebox
im convinced. i also heard somewhere they will do a bigger ram offer at leb prices.
@jshinkle Cheers and good luck with your surgery :P
@VPSNodeBox I actually just ordered a VPS from ChicagoVPS yesterday and so far they've been good.
