Impact VPS is the product of Subnet Labs LLC, a rapidly expanding and high performance web hosting company based in Mechanicsburg, PA. We offer OpenVZ cloud servers that can be customized to fit your needs.

Hardware: We use the latest hardware for our VPS nodes. Dual E5v3 Intel Processors with 128GB of DDR4 Memory, 4 x 1TB SSDs and a 10Gbps fiber connection to the node.

What is a VDR? VDR stands for Virtual Dedicated Resources. Unlike a standard VPS package, you can split the resources you pay for into as many servers of any size you want.

Have 12GB of RAM? You can create

  • 1 x 12GB server with 5IPs
  • 3 x 4GB servers with 1 IP each and 2 with 2 IPs
  • 1 x 6GB + 2 x 3GB servers

The combinations are endless

You choose how you want to split up your resources. Upgrade and downgrade them at any time. In the future you will also be able to split them across locations.

We are offering 41% off all our VDR plans in Seattle using the promo code: LEB .

Each plan does have the ability to set scheduled snapshot backups, however these backups should be not be relied upon in case of emergency.

Alright I guess this is as good of place as any to ask since I've always been curious on how acceptable use policies end up like they do.

Whenever I eventually decide on a server I intend to use it for anything and everything that I can so any restrictions within policies limit what I can do.

    1. Teamspeak/mumble Seems odd to me that such a popular chat programs aren't allowed although in my case I already have a community I hang out with it still seems weird others can't run their own communities on them.

    2. Torrents These make sense due to all the legal problems associated with torrents unfortunately it is pretty common to block.

    3. Spamming/Mass Mail These tend to cause problems for the hosting provider so it makes sense why you wouldn't want these.

    4. Nested virtualization. "It's not possible to setup a VPS within an OpenVZ VPS" -http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=942234 Sounds like a physical limitation but why not state it I guess.

    5. Tor A way to anonymize your data in a world that is ramping up its spying capabilities in their struggle for power over its citizens programs like tor have become increasingly important in people lives to bring privacy back under the users control If someone could clarify why such an tool is getting blocked I'd appreciate it.

Sure i'd love to address your questions.

    1. On our services we do not allowed teamspeak/mumble due to our past experiences of many of them receiving network attacks. In order to prevent downtime and improve the service for our clients we elected to disallow it.

    2. Both legal and torrents often tend to be I/O intensive which causes other issues. Using something like bitsync is tolerated, but as a seedbox no.

    3. You are correct this causes problems. Not allowed due to IP reputation issues as well as it is not allowed by our upstream.

    4. qemu is possible. Very CPU intensive though, hence it is not allowed.

    5. We don't allow it mostly due to CPU,IO and bandwidth concerns.

Hope that helps address your concerns.

Could you please explain further on this? Does this means that Bit Torrent Sync Client from https://www.getsync.com/ is allowed? I am pretty confused with the term 'torrent not allowed' (in general related to any VPS provider).

Also want to know, how does site like http://www.zbigz.com allow torrent to be uploaded. I wanted to use torrent client on VPS since the internet speed is not good at home and BW is costly.

Thanks in advance for some insight!

  • Do you allow IPv6 only VMs?

Somehow I missed this sorry. Bit torrent sync is allowed. Basically we don't want the system used as a seedbox.

It is planned but currently there is a upgrade of the module needed first
