  • Any updates about kimsufi micro vks? About how long we can keep that one for free.. or about the price when the beta is over?

Mine up for 2 months or more iirc. And yesterday I've renewed it for september (26-09-2012).
I asked them about this via ticket but no reply yet.
I have this vKS in HK DC, so that's precious...

  • @Jack said: How much do you pay for it?

The vKS? I didn't pay it. It's the free beta. 1 week before renewal / expiration date there will be "renewal button" at the top of manager v5. You just need to click it without paying.

  • @Jack said: Oh? I don't even remember what email I used for the box.

Yeah it's sad they don't notify us via email about the expiration / renewal date.

  • i got my vKS on the 15th last month and i just hit "renew" on the 22nd this month. I'm not sure if that will work as it still says "you have less than 5 days to renew it"

Just wait, they will send you the receipt after you hit that button.

I haven't seen any more recent updates, and the tweet linked in http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/100626 said "Sep/Oct".

Although bandwidth is 4Gbps, the interface is only 100mbps.
So, it's max will be 100mbps.
    Am i right?

Just got the reply from them:

According to your account vks19500 will expire on 2012-09-26 16:23:47. Since this was an OVH promotion, you will not be able to renew the offer. All data will be lost at the end of the trial period.

  • And another reply when I asked about pricing:

    De : [email protected]
    Sujet : Kimsufi Micro vKS

    Contenu :

Thank you for your understanding. If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to contact OVH support.

  • You've been able to purchase a BHS dedicated server since they were out with the Betas. http://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/superplan_mini.xml

on the right side it tells you which datacenters are available and to my knowledge BHS has been there for a long time.

Is there a difference between the server from http://www.ovh.com/us/ and https://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/superplan_mini.xml that I'm not seeing? 50 euro converted to USD is $62, so why the hell would I pay $79 via the other site?

    I only notice 30TB b/w vs 10TB.

its actually cheaper on hte ovh.ie page lol

    $79.99 vs 49.99 euros (~$62 currently)

  • @fly they dont give you 30TB on the OVH.ie page

  • The bandwidth is different and total limits are different.

The total bandwidth of all the servers of a same customer is limited to 1Gpbs, but can be extended to 4Gpbs by 1Gbps increments

Seems to suggest that ~10 servers would get you 1Gbps to your servers pooled, up to 4Gps for 40 servers with an additional 1Gbps per extra 10.

  • only 1 server option?

  • Looks like you can also get unmetered 100Mbps for 99 euros as well.

i dont need 30TB of bw...

  • @HalfEatenPie No, clicking that just took you to the beta signup page, and there was no way to choose the BHS datacenter :)

  • I live in Canada (where the data center is located) however Canada isn't an option on the sign-up form. Very odd. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

    just use ovh.ie

also they're convinced that .ca == .us apparently. which is pretty dumb.

you can try here.. Canada is the only option

  • It looks like the Kimsufis are available in Canada as well. For €119 (only yearly plans available) that's quite a steal. It was announced on OVH's Twitter feed yesterday.

  • Processeur Intel Atom D425 1.8 GHz (512 Ko de cache)
    Architecture 64 bits
NIC GigaEthernet (on 100 Mbps switch port)
Mémoire vive 4 Go (4 GB RAM)
Disque 2 To (2 TB HDD)
    Traffic: 5 TB/month

  • Does anyone have one of the SP series?

  • @pechspilz said: For €119 (only yearly plans available) that's quite a steal.

With Finnish VAT (23 %) this price is 149 €.

  • @bamn said: Does anyone have one of the SP series?

I do, I have the Intel I5,16GB,2x 2TB model at BHS

  • Damn, look at that storage server. 8TB (4x2) on a 100m line for $120/mo. Chop that up into 12x ~650Gb storage VPS for $10/mo and I'd get one.
