Oh nice, that x3440 is a good deal and so is that little AMD server for storage.

I'll update the first post while I can.

  • RizRiz Member

Just had my server delivered, I wanted to update since I know some of you were worried about the setup time.

    Thanked by 1catalystium
  • Also delivered in just under 7 hours.

I was a client for over a year at Dacentec and left to expand at QuickPacket with more servers.

I even had a "rent to own" server, came to the point where their incompetence affected my customers and requested shipping of the server. They didn't even lift a finger to give any kind of assistance, such as maybe possibly providing the address of the data center, in my request to have my server shipped back?

Oh, I just looked. After refusing to ship my server, my client account is now closed out so I've got no proof of tickets. I've never had a provider close out an account for their own problems they attempt to blame on customers.

You'll notice the difference real quick between the two. Hint: support, processing a payment and enjoy waiting for a KVM to be attached when QuickPacket can assign IPMI to one of your IPs from a /29. Save your $20 as they're trying to compete with Delimiter and Dacentec's network is about a notch better than ColoCrossing Buffalo with constant "upgrades" and random outages.

    All the 20s are gone.

You ordered 9000 X5150s?, or did you misunderstand and interpreted that as server models themselves?

  • heyzzxheyzzx Member

    I get a X5150 & a 1354.

You could ship me the server I RTO'd almost 18 months for (6 months past the agreement) but I'd rather get a server elsewhere. Thanks for the offer to open my account though.

    @Riz @sonontse Any /proc/cpuinfo and/or benchmarks for your servers? =)

@dacentec What is an "L5140"? I can't find them, do you mean L5410? Or just Xeon 5140?

  • dacentecdacentec Member, Host Rep

    They are Xeon 5140

    Probably cause you know..

Also @dacentec I remember you guys mentioned something about DDoS protection in the future some months ago, any update on that?

    Thanked by 1Riz
  • dacentecdacentec Member, Host Rep

Yes, we are feeling it a little. If you can't join 'em, beat em?

DDoS Filtering is still in the works, we wont release anything until we get our pipes to level3 and broadplex online (hopefully by the middle of next month).

    Thanked by 1catalystium
  • RizRiz Member

Will DDoS filtering be standard with all services?

  • Any testing IP and speedtest ?thx
