Can't do benchmark on hetzner vServer

Hello guys,
I have a problem doing benchmark on hetzner VPS using this command
wget freevps.us/downloads/bench.sh -O - -o /dev/null|bash

the bechmark always stop at CDN Cachefly 103MB/s

 System Info
 -----------
 Processor : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-26xx (Sandy Bridge)
 CPU Cores : 1
 Frequency : 2099.998 MHz
 Memory : 992 MB
 Swap : MB
 Uptime : 8 min,

 OS : Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
 Arch : x86_64 (64 Bit)
 Kernel : 4.4.0-52-generic
 Hostname : Ubuntu-1604-xenial-64-minimal

 Speedtest (IPv4 only)
 ---------------------
 Your public IPv4 is xx.xx.xx.xx

 Location Provider Speed
 CDN Cachefly 103MB/s

Question is, what does this mean?
is my IP being blocked somewhere or hetzner blocked some connection?

thanks

  • how long did you wait for it before deciding it really stopped? did you check via iftop or something alike if there is nothing going on in the background? maybe connection for the test after is just slow as hell ;-)

try https://github.com/K4Y5/ServerBench much more comprehensiv ;-)

  • Considering its Tokyo after Cachefly, I also would guess the connection is simply in the low 100's of kb/s or maybe even lower. Start the benchmark, go for a run and get a coffee, and it should be done.

second test is coloat atlanta ;-)

just checked, took about 50 seconds from a hetzner server for that atlanta step:

    Location Provider Speed
    CDN Cachefly 95,4MB/s

    Atlanta, GA, US Coloat 1,94MB/s
    Dallas, TX, US Softlayer 11,4MB/s
    Seattle, WA, US Softlayer 9,03MB/s
San Jose, CA, US Softlayer 9,90MB/s
    Washington, DC, US Softlayer 11,2MB/s

    Tokyo, Japan Linode 9,04MB/s
    Singapore Softlayer 489KB/s

    Rotterdam, Netherlands id3.net 70,5MB/s
    Haarlem, Netherlands Leaseweb 109MB/s

Everything seems fine here, it's just the bad peering of Hetzner.
