How to run Intel CPU on Turbo Boost mode at max frequency

Hi there,

I am having some servers with E5-2670 CPU. In the specification page, Intel said it can run at 2.6Ghz in normal mode and 3.3 Ghz in turbo mode. I have tried changing my governor to "Performance" but it is still running at 3.0Ghz only even when my load is > 1 for each core (exactly 1.5-2.5). I would like to ask how can I run the CPU on the maximum frequency (3.3 Ghz)? Thank you.

Try changing governer to ondemand and loading only one core - it should go to 3.3Ghz for that core... basically intel specifies "max frequency for single-core usage" in "max turbo-boost frequency"...
For all cores loaded it will be lower, and it is....

This behavior can be overriden in bios on some consumer-grade motherboards, but it is most likely impossible on server ones as it is considered overclocking...
