The protection included is reactive. This means that once an attack is detected the filtering will automatically attempt to mitigate it. We've found Psychz's mitigation to react quickly whenever we've had a client receive an attack.

I'm fairly confident you would find it perfectly fine though.

  • do you guys allow irc to run on your servers?

Yes. This is taken directly from our Terms of Service.

Legal use of IRC is allowed on our network. IRC may not be used on our network when the intentions are malicious or illegal, e.g. for controlling a bot net or other illegal activity.

So as long as your use is in line with our policy there will be no problem with that.

    Thanks for your interest.

  • How is the ability of DDOS protected? Bandwidth counting outbound only or in/out both?

I'm not sure what you mean by the ability but it's up to 20Gbps and it's a reactive protection meaning it will mitigate an attack once it detects it. We've found for the most part it's pretty good but isn't really ideal for things like Teamspeak.

Bandwidth is counted both in and out in the client area. We're very flexible in how we operate and don't mind a little overages here and there. If you feel you will regularly use more than 5TB per month then contact us and we can discuss bandwidth upgrades.

If you need any help let us know.

    Thanks!
