VPS to run FreePBX Distro
Good day all!
Being that Black Friday is approaching, now seems to be the right time to secure another VPS. I'm looking into getting one to run FreePBX/Asterisk for all of my call routing purposes. I've read in various places that OpenVZ should work fine, and I should aim for around 512MB.
So question for you all is who would you recommend for a VPS in the $20/year or less range with 512MB, 10gb storage, solid reputation, and ideally a location on the US East Coast - Florida (ideally) to New York. Needs the ability to run a custom OS - FreePBX Distro.
Any insight, comments, suggestions, and recommendations are more than welcome.
Thank you!

Hi there,
OpenVZ isn't the good option to run FreePBX, you need 100% KVM Virtualization, do not forget openvz is a shared resources environment, with KVM you might get 100% dedicated resources.
Thanks everyone. I'll be reaching out to people shortly. @racksx I've read this previously, but also that OpenVZ works fine as long as you don't plan on needing DAHDI as it's not supported. Any other reasons you know of?
OpenVZ works fine. We host many PBX customers on our openvz services. Xivo seems to be preferred.

I had read about Xivo too. Seems to integrate with Twilio without issue as well. Thanks @Awmusic12635
In case anyone was interested, there is also a new player - https://www.ombutel.com
I may stick with FreePBX for it's massive user base and contributors.
Looks real good. Anyone know a cheap location to get an SIP or trunk to play with this some?
Also, anyone have a simple and easy tutorial on how to use an SIP or integrate/enable.
Twilio is what I plan on using.

tried xivo but it seems overly complicated to setup. Back to freepbx for me
All the SIP trunks with twilio look to be per minute. Doesn't that add up to a lot?
Depends on your call volume. At half a cent a minute... That's like 100 hours of constant minutes being used for $30.00. My call volume is not significant at all, but hosting a bunch of phone numbers for tracking purposes is definitely worthwhile.
