Alright, cunts.

Potentially looking for a VPS for an Emby server. Odd mix of requirements, so I'm asking as I ain't seen nuffin that looks right elsewhere.

Minimum requirements:

  • KVM
  • 2GB RAM
  • 1 CPU (min 2k passmark, must be able to twat it soundly for around 30-mins to an hour, max 5 times every few days)
  • 30-50GB HDD (SSD not required)
  • 100GB BW
  • Europe (not UK)

No budget as such, quality preferred over bargain basement prices, as always. Recommendations or offers most welcome.

For series based home movies, or feature length home movies?

Anime. Looking for somewhere to put the stuff that I can't keep on the main Plex box as too many young'uns have direct access to that now.

I saw Urotsukdoji as a 15 year old and I think it fucked me up for life, would rather not have someone do the same to themselves.

You need to look up Urotsukidoji. Preferably when alone, using private browsing and a VPN. Whole.New.World.

Imagine watching that at 15. I literally had no fucking idea anything like could have possibly existed.

    How come?

Unnecessary expense. For a media server, the latency difference between UK and mainland Europe is irrelevant and so I'd rather benefit from the lower pricing.

off topic.. but how do you like Emby compared to Plex? I've never used Emby, only Plex. Anyways I run a Plex server for my home and there's a 70-ish ms delay, never have buffering problems but I don't transcode.

If 2GB RAM, 30GB SSD (E3v3) for $12 in Gravelines is fine send me a PM.

I have two friends that are on holiday in different countries on the other side of the world and they are streaming from my home plex server at 720p. I'm pretty surprised at how well it has worked.
