German Provider. Germany only Location. Have used them for about 2 years a while back. Stable servers. OVZ dont seem oversold. Not affilated with them anymore. Used to be reseller of their Servers.

    https://www.server-provider.com/halloween-angebot.php#Angebot

It's prepaid Service and first month is 5€/month with the Special offer :)

  • Well seems great for this price. Gonna check them out for sure!

    OVZ. bleh!

    No wonder it's so cheap.

  • I'd run FIO and hparm for the disk I/O check to be sure of its performance.

Just download and install it, there's no need to purchase a license to run the benchmarks.

also, more network speeds may be of interest, pls do

    https://github.com/K4Y5/ServerBench

PS: seems they are with combahton, that's the business running kms-hosting ( @kabeldamagement ) out of FFM, network should be good, also they offer/amke use of the ddos protection given from combahton as it seems ;-)

  • could not found any review about them, for sure the ovh reseller, but the question how they are

  • Advicerxyz said: for sure the ovh reseller

what makes you think so? did you even bother to have a look at their IP locations?

It all sounds good until you actually try and use that resource to any significant level.

  • https://www.server-provider.com/rechenzentrum.php they dont mention a german location. ovh only.

  • So they basically gave you the entire CPU with the VPS? Not bad ;)

  • Its hard to tell if its a good deal or not. You will have to do more long term testing and see how well your applications run on it.

480gbs ddos protection usually its ovh, and 500mb shared, seems like ovh..

ok, I tracert their IP, so maybe this is only where they host their own page, apologize for the harsh tone anyways, didn't read that datacenter part on their page.

thought I read FFM somewhere else in that blog post, must be lack of beer...

  • Just a quick headsup:
Somehow cant get Geekbench to work (says it is not a .sh script; never used it before).
And https://github.com/K4Y5/ServerBench stops after 5 speedtest locations for some reason. Any other benches I could run?

Btw. I contacted them and while their Servers are located in OVH Datacenters they are saying they are having their very own HW in there. No OVH rented Dedis. They do use their Anti DDoS Infrastructure though I think.

Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 (it's their latest ubuntu release for ovz)

Please do the following actions on your VPS:

    dpkg --add-architecture i386
    apt-get install -y lib32stdc++6
    cd dist
    cd Geekbench-3.4.1-Linux
    chmod +x geekbench
    ./geekbench

Then past the result URL here ;)

  • Could you try and do a https://serverscope.io/ for the server?

    Coming right up: https://serverscope.io/trials/j1d#system
The Disk I/O looks kinda strange though. Like it is REALLY SLOW. Not sure if it's just that bench script but the other one showed different results. I will try to get geekbench running to have them all compared. Judging usage whise the drives dont seem to be working slow for me though.

  • their kvm 12 vcore ? i dont belive it.. its seems they kvm its openvz also
