  • meaning to buy one for production until i saw this

    @miTgiB said: no upgrades/changes allowed

anyways ive been with these guys for more than 6mos already and all i can think of are good things about their service

OT: why is kvm more pricey than ovz?

  • @yowmamasita said: meaning to buy one for production until i saw this

There is still regular stock in LA for KVM and a little ovz as well. I have some nodes I set aside specifically for this promotion. KVM is a little pricer as you cannot populate the node as much as you can with OpenVZ. Some of the resources are dedicated (disk) to each container, so you cannot pool as you would in OpenVZ

Hm, can I take advantage of this offer on my active 128mb KVM?

  • @Kairus said: can I take advantage of this offer on my active 128mb KVM

You could buy this and cancel your active KVM, but no upgrades/changes, this is my gift for Xmas, and it is meant to be painless, approve the paid orders is about all the work I expect. Also notice 1/2 the disk space, dunno if that will effect you, but be aware.

  • IMPRESSIVE Performance. 10x better than VPSs costing 10x more.

    Thanks for the gift!

  • I have one KVM LA with them for about 5 months. so far so good and very solid. nothing else I can say.

  • Well this VPS has the fastest processor I have seen in a budget VPS.

  • god, im such a noob. it's my first time with kvm and im lost

im installing debian now, am i on the right path? :)

  • I previously had one in SC and was great however no longer needed it. I won't be buying this but it is a great offer and you should grab it with both hands. Unfortunately I already have too many vms and the misses will kill me if I get anymore :(

    no upgrades/changes allowed.

You are talking about HARDWARE and Bandwidth, right?

Is not possible to install CENTOS ?

Does this KVM allow to install Windows?

    Thank you!

  • @DragonDF said: You are talking about HARDWARE and Bandwidth, right?

he's talking about the addons like ip and bw etc, hardware isnt something you can choose to upgrade on a vps

i dont see centos and windows on the os list so no.

  • @DragonDF said: Does this KVM allow to install Windows?

I've never offered Windows, so that is easy to answer. CentOS/Scientific Linux ISO's are not provided so I don't have to deal with people unable to run the installer in 128mb of ram.

This truly is a what you see is what you get offer. If you don't see it listed, the answer is no.

one quick question please, it this located in LA or SC?

  • LA - Quadranet.

  • @yaocheng said: it this located in LA or SC?

It is located in Los Angeles

  • thank u both for the quick reply

  • Just a heads up, Hostigation has been nothing short of AWSOME for me. I'm writing a review and will release once I hit my first month's uptime since becoming a new customer. Simply not enough good things you can say about Hostigation.

  • on the all the available iso images, what do you think will work best with an lnmp/lemp stack?

  • @yowmamasita said: will work best with an lnmp/lemp stack?

Debian 5 or 6 seem to be very popular for that application

    Thanked by 1yowmamasita
  • +1 for Tim as well.

    Thanked by 1yowmamasita
  • i grabbed one and installed this:

    http://lnmp.org/download.html

now free memory doesnt drop below 90% 0_0

    ps aux: http://pastebin.com/7saYMLYU

did i do something wrong or lemp just work like that?

  • Reduce the php process count.

    Thanked by 1yowmamasita

dmmcintyre3 made a good suggestion, but also, what is the output of free -m

You may be seeing all memory used up when it might only be cached.

  • Hoping to grab one of these, hope they stay in stock!

    /usr/local/php/bin/php-cgi --fpm --fpm-config /usr/local/php/etc/php-fpm.conf

    i tried following this:

    http://forum.slicehost.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=3671

but i cant find those files on my system :(

@miTgiB said: what is the output of free -m

total used free shared buffers cached

    Mem: 121 117 4 0 29 32
    -/+ buffers/cache: 55 66
    Swap: 236 6 230

  • Great, about half your ram is free, the rest is being used by cache/buffers

    Thanked by 1yowmamasita

thanks! i didnt know how to look at free -m :)

  • Ordered one. But the vps was unaccessable via vnc and ssh. Submitted a ticket and waiting for answers.

SSH won't work until you install your OS.

Isn't it installed automatically?? Or should I install it myself??
