Which location do you like most?

Hello,

We are considering to launch a new brand to offer cheap openvz VPS. We want to get some advice about data centre location. Which location do you like most? West Coast US, East Cost US, UK or other areas?

Thanks.

  • West Coast US

  • @Sugarhosts like to see more West coast helps lots of International business geographically speaking IMHO

  • LA is the most, then other West Coast locations.

For me the US is so crowded in most locations, but with a high number of good providers so the choice is there, however I think there is room for more in the UK, Netherlands areas.

In the UK though stay away from the ever crowded Rapidswitch.

    Brussels?

edit: my bad, i remember wrong. It was Strasbourg, not Brussels. So not Belgium unfortunately.

  • @Liam said: I see. Interestingly, Fusa also offer raspberry pi colo for €5.50 per month.

    Yeah, you will get 100gb.

Currently there is another provider offering free pi colo in the Netherlands (Gyrocenter Amsterdam) with 500gb bandwith.

Frankfurt (or also Dusseldorf), it's like the center of European Internet, huge IXes with everyone on them, and lowest ping from anywhere. And the "second place" goes to Amsterdam.

That's for boring practical purposes though, as in "hosting websites for regular people to visit and have good and stable response times". But I also like a lot of unconventional locations, e.g. HK/Singapore/Tokyo, or India. Mostly to set up monitoring or measurement points to evaluate peerings and routes situation in Asia. Although there are no suitable offers for me in any of those at the moment.

    Where's strasborg located?

Google maps is working fine for me, trying clearing your browser cache if you're unable to access it, if that doesn't clear up the problem, Autoboot v2.

I also like a lot of unconventional locations, e.g. HK/Singapore/Tokyo, or India

    $10 or less solutions:
    HK: Edis, Host Virtual
    Singapore: OneAsiaHost
    India-HostVirtual

The unconventional I'd like to see is Sao Paulo.

We are considering to launch a new brand to offer cheap quality openvz VPS

add the word quality to that mix and you can setup your new brand in any location

  • I'd love to see some more providers in NL.

  • South eastern Canada/North eastern US
Good connectivity to all the US and most of Europe.
